ONDO APC STATE CONGRESS: Alasoadura, Boroffice, Kekemeke Absent as Adetimehin Returns as Chairman

In a well attended State Congress of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ondo State, some notable figures in the party were absent as Engr Ade Adetimehin was returned as the State Chairman for another four years tenure.
Notable among the absentees were Senator Tayo Alasoadura, the serving Minister of State Niger Delta, Senator Ajayi Boroffice, Deputy Senate Majority Leader, Barr Isaac Kekemeke, former Governorship aspirant, Ali Olanusi, Former Deputy Governor, Hon Bunmi Tunji Ojo, Hon Tajudeen Adefioye, Hon Mayowa Akinfolarin among others.
The State Congress was held on Saturday 16th October, 2021 at the International Event Centre, Akure, where key members of the political party has expressed delight at the outcome of the congress saying the party is united in its quest for continuity.
The Congress was chaired by the lawmaker representing Mikang, Shendam, Quaan-Pan Federal Constituency in the house of Representatives, Mr Komsol Longgap which had in attendance delegates from across the 18 local government areas of the State unanimously return the new state executives of APC through consensus arrangement which was agreed by all the delegates.
In attendance were the Deputy Governor, Mr Lucky Ayedatiwa, speaker of the House of Assembly, Mr Bamidele Oleyelogun, Chief Olusola Oke, Chief Sola Iji, Chief Jamiu Ekungba, Hon. Ade Adeogun, Hon Timehin Adelegbe among other top party Chieftains.
In his acceptance speech, Engr Adetimehin thanks all the delegates for counting him worthy to be returned as the State Chairman, promising to continue to serve the party diligently.
He assured every APC members in Ondo State that, his next four years in office will be all inclusive as no member will be short change as the party prepare for next election.
Hon Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the Deputy Governor who represents the governor commended the delegates for a rancour free congress that produced the new State executives of the party.
He stated that, the government of Arakunrin Akeredolu will continue to prioritise the welfare of party members, adding the party leadership under Engr Adetimehin has recorded tremendous progress since assumption as the state chairman.
The Deputy Governor charged all members of the state executive to unite and cooperate with the chairman to move the party forward.
Chief Olusola Oke ( SAN) while speaking shortly after the state congress said he was very proud of his party as it demonstrated strength in unity not just to the people of Ondo State but also to other political parties.
Chief Oke who said a house divided against itself cannot stand urged members to support the new state executive and remain loyal to the quest for continuity.
Also speaking with the PATH, Hon Timehin Adelegbe, representing Owo/Ose Federal Constituency said the peaceful conduct of the state congress has shown that APC in Ondo State is united and a big happy family.
Mrs. Kosemani Kolawole among other members of the party also lauded the process of election in the party just as they expressed optimism that the new state executives will hit the ground running.
