PLACE PREMIUM ON WORKERS’ WELFARE, DR. WILSON-IKUBESE URGES EMPLOYERS, BAGS MDCAN EXCELLENCE AWARD

The Chief Medical Director and Chairman of Sckye Hospitals Limited, Dr. Thomas Wilson-Ikubese, has called on employers of labour to prioritize the welfare and well-being of their workers.
Dr. Wilson-Ikubese made the call while speaking with journalists shortly after bagging the Award of Excellence from the Medical and Dental Consultants’ Association of Nigeria (MDCAN) during its Annual General Meeting held at Dejavu Hotel, Akure on Thursday, October 29, 2026.
He said the award, conferred on him in recognition of his humanitarian services and contributions to MDCAN, would spur him to intensify efforts toward improving the lives of people in the society.
According to him, organisations must give adequate attention to the well-being of their workforce, as a well-catered workforce is critical to productivity and building a humane society.
The Sckye Hospitals boss dedicated the award to less privileged Nigerians who struggle to afford basic necessities of life, noting that their plight should challenge individuals and corporate bodies to show compassion and support the vulnerable.
