Ondo State House of Assembly Minority Leader, Hon Rasheed Elegbeleye has described the vote of no confidence passed on him by one yusuf Hamzat as null and void, saying it has no effect on his political aspiration.

Speaking with the PATH at the PDP Secretarial in Akure, the lawmaker representing Akoko North East in the state assembly noted that Yusuf acted alone on the declaration, saying no leader of the local government supported the selfish motive of the self acclaimed leader.

The Minority Ladder stated further that, Yusuf Hamzat has been suspended by the leadership of the party due to his high handedness and diversion of money made for canvassers into personal pocket.

“The person in question, one Yusuf Hamzat is from the same ward with me, Eddo Ward.He was suspended by the party because he pocked canvassers money released to him during the last governorship election in the state”.

Elegbeleye debunked the statement credited to the group that the party’s leaders in the local government passed vote of no confidence on him. “Who are the leaders? How many of the leaders came together and resolved that vote of no confidence should be passed on me?”

He asked members of the party to ignore and disregard any news blackmailing the leaders of the party in Akoko North East. ” Yusuf is on his own; the vote of no confidence passed is null and void.

He indicted the leaders because none of them sent him; though I am not surprise because Yusuf will always be Yusuf”.

He noted that the leaders of the party will definitely take disciplinary action against him for blackmail. ” He did not blackmail Rasheed Elegbeleye but blackmailed the leaders”.

Meanwhile, Elegbeleye who is aspiring for second term in office charged leaders and party’s members to work toward stabilizing PDP in Ondo State as 2023 General election is fast approaching.

In his words, ” I am a founding member of the PDP in Akoko North East, we brought the party to the local government and I will never do anything contrary to the progress of the party”.

” I am re-contesting in 2023; If I decide to defect to APC, I will get the party’s ticket on a platter of gold but PDP is my party and I believe by 2023, our party will reclaim the country back”, he stated.
