Ondo 2024: Why I’m Supporting Jimoh Ibrahim for Governor- Senator Alasoadura

By Dupson Collins, 5th February, 2024
Senator Donald Tayo Alasoadura has stated that his support for the governorship ambition of Senator Jimoh Ibrahim in the forthcoming governorship election in Ondo State was borne out of convictions of the personality of the Igbotako Born Business Mogul who is not only a successful business man but good Manager of resources with passion for the downtrodden.
The Former Minister who is the Chairman of Jimoh Ibrahim Campaign Council said it took him three months to study the indepth conversation he had with the Senator and programme for the people of Ondo State before finally assented to become the Chairman of his Aseyori Group.
The Senator said unlike the Late Governor Akeredolu who had no pragmatic design to cater for the masses, he noted that Senator Jimoh Ibrahim Aseyori Package was designed to take care of the downtrodden and people of the state without discriminating.
Alasoadura said Ondo State needs already made man with needed resources to govern the state saying God has blessed Senator Jimoh Ibrahim and his reason of wanting to govern the state is to further contribute meaningful development to the state and not to corner or dip his hands into the state resources.
“So I have looked at all the people who are trying to contest now and I find out that Sen. Jimoh Ibrahim is the best among them all. He has made a lot of money and can’t be tempted by the money of the state”.
The Former Minister clarified that his candidate won’t step down or negotiate his ambition with any aspirant saying Jimoh Ibrahim is a man to beat in the forthcoming APC primaries.
He enjoined the people of the state to ignore the insinuation that Senator Jimoh will mortgage the future of the state if voted for as the Governor of Ondo State saying there is no record linking his candidate to invitation from either EFCC or ICPC on allegation of corruption or high-handedness.
“Senator Jimoh Ibrahim is a genius from the little I know about him. People don’t know that you can make money by being very clever. You can get something for less and resell for higher”.
“I believe Sen. Jimoh Ibrahim will not steal the money of our state. His brilliance shows that he can take this state to another level. For example, he has only spent six months and have made impact. Today, he has presented bills on our bitumen seeking for a Bitumen Commission.”.
Alash as popularly called said in his my own little capacity while representing Ondo Central Senatorial at the National Assembly he tried to bring Bitumen under Petroleum so the state can benefit from the 13% derivative as the chairman, Senate Committee on Petroleum Resources.
He said in the space of six months in the Senate, Ibrahim has introduced about eight bills while some of his colleagues might not introduce single bill in their four years stay at the Hallow chamber. “So after listening to Sen. Ibrahim, not once, not twice, but over a period of three months, I knew he is consistent in what he intends to do for Ondo State people”.
He further added that Sen Jimoh is fully prepared for any method of primary the party would adopt in April. “Well we don’t know whether we’re going to have delegates or direct primaries. But we are preparing for both. Yes, it is only Jimoh Ibrahim that has created a platform called Aseyori to target registered 600,000 voters. I don’t want to give out everything here we are preparing very well”.
