International Charity Day: Barrister Olumuyiwa Adu receives shout-outs from beneficiaries

Charity has been part of human culture for thousands of years. There are numerous instances of charitable acts in ancient civilizations dating back as fast as 2500 BCE ( or 4,500 years ago), which was around the time the Egyptians were building the pyramids
Today, 5th September, was designated by the General Assembly of the United Nations as International Day of Charity in its resolution of A/Res/67/105 in 2012 to celebrate the charitable efforts of organisations and individuals.
The day was purposely established to commemorate the death anniversary of the legendary symbol of humanity and Nobel Prize winner, Mother Teresa for her heroic acts of kindness, charity and struggle against poverty.
Mother Teresa was born in Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu in 1910 but later became an Indian citizen. She devoted her life to helping the destitute and ministrating to the orphaned and the poor for over 45 years in hospitals and orphanages in many countries. She died on the 5th September, 1997 at the age of 87 years.
The international Day of charity provides a platform for charitable organizations to educate people and create awareness about the significant roles of charity in eradicating poverty, promoting education, creating inclusive and resilient societies, and addressing plethora of humanitarian issues.
In our microcosm, we also have replicas of Mother Teresa in selfless service and kindness, our beloved Barrister ( Dr) Olumuyiwa Adu who is fondly called Cubana by his teeming followers and admirers is one of them and he deserves some commendations on this auspicious occasion, as a worthy Philanthropist who has been working tirelessly to assist the downtrodden, the sick and people who suffer multidimensional forms of humanitarian crises.
Barrister (Dr) Olumuyiwa Adu is noted for his generosity using his grassroots approach and OLUMUYIWA ADU FOUNDATION ( OAF) to reach out to thousands of those who are in dire need of help. The list of his beneficiaries is long.
His interventions in education, health, industrialization, music and film industry, empowerment among others had cushioned the excruciating effects of poverty and distress. They suppressed what could have constituted a threat to societal peace and tranquility.
Many others and i make a shout-outs to this benefactor, giant intellectual, great achiever and astute politician who is making positive impact in the lives of so many people while serving God with determination, through humanitarian works.
