Excitement as Philanthropist, Dr Adu Donates to Mosque, Advocates Unity Among Muslims, Christians

Excitement and jubilation rented the air at the Akure Central Mosque on Saturday during the Grand Chief Imam End of Ramadan Tafseer where a Philanthropist and politician, Dr Olumuyiwa Adu donated 3millon to support the Annual Ramadan Lecture being organized by the Grand Chief Imam of Akure, Sheikh Abdul-Hakeem Yayi Akorede.

Dr Olumuyiwa Adu is the Chairman of this year Tafseer, an annual event that began twenty years ago at the resident of the Late Yayi Akorede, the then Chief Imam.

Speaking with the PATH, Dr Adu stated that giving and contributing to the work of God has always been a good avenue of thanking God over His kindness and blessings in all ramifications.

He commended the Chief Imam for being fearless and speaking truth to power without talking sides, a traits he said the outspoken cleric inherited from his late father.

Dr Adu assured the Muslim Community in Akure of continue support and commitment to whatever can promote the gospel of Allah.

He charged both the Muslims and Christians in the state to love one another and allow unity to prevail in all their dealings, adding that God is one.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Abdul-Hakeem Yayi Akorede eulogized Dr Adu for associating and supporting Islam with his God given resources despite his Christian background.

He described him as a kind, generous giver and epitome of humility who is quick to give a helping hands to the less privileged in the society.

While congratulating the ruling party in the state for harvesting a big fish into their camp, he added that Dr Adu political structure and teeming supporters will further boost the image of the party in the state.

His words,” Dr Adu who is so passionate about helping the less privileged can’t but join the ruling party having seen the sterling performance of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN in Ondo State”.

He charged both the leaders and followers to live above board in all their dealings saying they would give account to God at end of their sojourn on earth.

In attendance were Alhaji Amidu Takuro,, Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Jimoh Dojumo, SSA on Security to Governor, Chairman Akure South Local Government, Barr Gbenga Olaniyi, Alhaji Sikiru Basaru, former Commissioner, Bayduk CEO, Fortunate Bread, religious leaders, Islam Scholars among others.
