Comrade Jide Murphy Abiade, Ondo State Governor of the Performing Musicians Employers Association of Nigeria, (PMAN) has been elected as the Secretary of the South West Zone of the association.
He was elected among other leaders of the association in an election held on Wednesday, August 25, 2026, at the NUJ Press Centre, Iyaganku, Ibadan.
All PMAN governors and secretaries from the six South West states and Kwara State were in attendance to witness the change of leadership.
Comrade Mutiu Ayeloja, popularly known as Manadex, emerged as the new Chairman of the zone.
Other elected officials are: Deputy Chairman: Comrade Taiwo Omotunde Secretary: Comrade Jide Murphy Abiade ,Financial Secretary: Comrade Prince Abiodun Adebayo Adegoroye, aka Abbey Simmo Treasurer: Comrade Adisa Owala Welfare/Social Officer Akinbade: Comrade Tayo Organising Secretary: Comrade Olalere Adankanra ,Public Relations Officer: Comrade Alhaji Fatai Tijani
The outgoing Chairman, Dr. Ola Jombo, in his farewell address, thanked PMAN governors and secretaries for their support during his tenure.
He charged the new executive council to remain committed to their duties and work assiduously for the growth of the association.
Also speaking, the outgoing Secretary, Baale Comrade Evangelist Remi Aderoju, appreciated members for their cooperation and support throughout the life of the outgoing administration.
In his acceptance speech, the new Chairman, Comrade Mutiu Ayeloja, thanked members for the confidence reposed in him and promised to work closely with the executive council to promote the growth of PMAN and the music industry across the South West.
“This is a call to service. We will run an inclusive administration that will protect the welfare of our members and advance the interests of musicians in the zone,” Ayeloja said.
The seven state PMAN governors present were: Comrade Taiwo Omotunde, Oyo; Comrade Jide Murphy Abiade, Ondo; Comrade Prince Abiodun Adebayo Adegoroye, Ogun; Comrade Chief Adankanra Olalere, Ekiti; Comrade Alhaji Adisa Owala, Kwara; Comrade Alhaji Fatai Tijani, Lagos; and Comrade Sir Tayo Akinbade, Osun.
State PMAN secretaries in attendance included: Comrade Psalmist Dr. Adeolu Afolami, Oyo; Comrade Tope Ogunjobi, Osun; Comrade Ben Ikuejamofo, Ondo; Comrade Christopher Aduroja, Ekiti; Comrade Monsuru Ewetade, Lagos; Comrade Ejire Adetoro, Kwara; and Comrade Olujimi Oyewusi, Ogun.
The new executive council is expected to focus on advancing the welfare of PMAN members and contributing to the overall development of the music industry across the South West zone.
