2026 New Yam Festival: Rep Akingbaso Congratulates Alara, Ilaramokin Indigenes

The Federal Lawmaker representing Idanre Ifedore Federal Constituency, Hon Festus Akingbaso has joined other well-wishers to congratulate the Alara of Ilara-Mokin, Oba Abiodun Adeyemi Adefehinti and indigenes of the town as they celebrate 2026 New Yam Festival.
In a Congratulatory Message made available to the PATH, the Federal Lawmaker rejoiced with the people of Ilara-Mokin for the opportunity of witnessing the 2026 edition of the annual festival.
The New Yam Festival (Odun Ijesu) in Ilara-Mokin, an ancient town in Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo State, is an annual cultural celebration held to thank the earth for a bountiful harvest and unite indigenes both at home and in the diaspora.
The festival gives room for the display of the rich culture of Ilara-Mokin as different activities will be held at different locations of the town which will further bring more glamour to the festival.
” The festival showcases rich local heritage, historical rites, and communal gatherings where sons, daughters, and visitors reconnect”.
Fessywest as popularly called urged the people of the community to celebrate the festival peacefully, saying the beauty of any festival is to display culture and traditions and not to create crisis.
He thanked the people of Ilara for their support and love as their representative at the lower chamber, promising to bring more dividend of good governance to their door steps.
The Federal Lawmaker also extended his appreciation to the Alara of Ilara-Mokin and Council of Chiefs for their prayers and cooperation, saying he holds the people of the town in high esteem.
He appealed to the Indigenes and residents of the community to support his reelection for second term for continuity of his good work and more dividend of democracy to the people of Ilaramokin and Ifedore as a whole
