In less than 20 days to the Inauguration of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa as the Substantive Governor of Ondo State, the aides to the Governor have begun to deflate in sizes as the Ilaje born governor continue his sacking spree.
Yes, Mr Governor has the power to hire and fire but the recent sacking of the two female Media Aides has put every appointee on their toes. The question in the mouth of everyone of them is, who’s Next?
Last month, the Governor dissolved the state cabinet when many of them least expected and the sacking of Ewatomi Emiola and Kike Isijola respectively showed that there is more to the action of the governor considering his cordial relationship with these gender.
Rejoice not for the sacking of these people because more of it is still coming. When, is what I can say but trust your governor, it might be today, tomorrow or next; Boy Scout motto says, always be prepared.
To the Ganusi Politicians waiting for appointment, Governor Aiyedatiwa will surprise many of you but my sincere advise that might prevent unnecessary HYPERTENSION is to put less hope on these appointments. If it comes, congratulations and if not, struggle continues.
The appointment of over 400 aides before the election, we all know the motive and election is over and don’t be disappointed if Mr Governor anytime from now flash you RED CARD. It simply means your usefulness is over. No prudent governor will accommodate these huge number of aides without portfolio in the name of politicking.
In spite of all these, the appointees owe Governor Aiyedatiwa appreciation for enriching their political credentials as former aides to the governor of Ondo State, time spent in office is immaterial.
As Yoruba will say, “Eni kan ki nje ki ile o fe” meaning others who have not benefited should be given a chance. This is era of lobby and more of spiritual engagement, all in the name of curring Mr Governor favour. Governor Aiyedatiwa too need to ‘DIRA’ (spiritual brace up) because the desperate ones are ready to wine and dine with devil for appointment.
I can only wish my fellow colleagues best of luck in their future endeavors. They have contributed their quotas in their own little ways. Kudos.
