A leading aspirant vying for Akure South and Akure North Federal House of Representatives under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party, Barr Balarabe Abiodun Akinwumi has stated why he wants to represent his constituent at the lower chamber of the National Assembly.
Speaking with the PATH at the State Secretariat of the PDP in Akure, Bala said aside sponsoring bills that will better the lots of his people, his intentions is to have honest conversation and join forces with like-minds to develop the country.
His words: ” I want to go to the National Assembly to have honest conversation; if we must develop this country, I want to join forces with likeminds in the National Assembly”.
“We are going to the Assembly to mobilise Nigerians on the need to build this country, mobilise our people that it is possible to develop Nigeria”.
He said under the Buhari led APC government, there were hopelessness, hardship, poverty, pains in the country, noting that Nigerians have lost hope because the leadership have failed them.
The Lawyer turned Politician said he put himself forward to offer service to the people of Akure South and North Federal Constituency with a demonstration that youths of today’s have what it takes to build a better nation.
” I want to see a situation in Nigeria where happiness is the order of the day; where poverty will be a thing of the past; where security will become forgotten issues; where Nigerians won’t live in fear but live in happiness, peace and harmony”.
Bala further joined the advocacy for restructuring to get a balance, saying over concentration of power at the centre has brought more poverty, insecurity in the country, saying present government has failed in all ramifications.
He said he picked the People’s Democratic Party as a platform to drive his aspiration because it is the only and best option of retiring APC from government.
“I am a lawyer of several years; I am well experienced in both the public and private sectors and I want to put my experience into bare in the development of my federal constituency and Nigeria as a country”.
“You can’t compare what we achieved in our 16 years in office with what the country is going through in the last 7 years of APC led government. Nigerians can now compare notes and see that the difference is clear”.
He pleaded with the delegates to choose right while tasking Nigerians to get their PVC ready ahead of 2023 general elections so as to vote APC out of government at all levels.
