Ondo Commissioner of Police Visits ‘B Division” Akure On Familiarization Tour

The Commissioner of Police, Ondo State Command, CP Oyediran Oyeyemi has visited the B Division Akure as part of his familiarization tour of Akure Area Command.

CP Oyeyemi was posted to Ondo State after the mandatory retirement of CP Salami.

Speaking at the division, the Commissioner acknowledged the support and cooperation of the PCRC members of the division with their information gathering, sharing and assistance to the police architecture of the state.

He said his visit to the Akure Area Command was necessitated on the need to motivate and encourage the officers in all the divisions, saying his visit will no doubt inspire them to continue to give their best while discharging their duties.

CP Oyediran promised to always discharge his duty in fairness, equity and ensure justice prevail in every matters brought before him.

He enjoined the police officers to always act within the ambit of law and shun any act that can tarnish the image of police organisation.

In his welcome address, the Divisional Police Officer, SP Otaigbe Patrick commended the giant strides of the CP since he was posted to the state, saying his past antecedents in Benin City as a fearless and courageous police officer is a testimony of good things to happen to the security architecture of Ondo State.

SP Otaigbe said the good things to happen to Ondo State is having CP Oyediran as the Commissioner of Police, saying justice and adequate security will no doubt be assured under his command.

While requesting for Police Patrol Vehicle for efficient service delivery, the DPO stated that the division is constraint due to non availability of patrol vehicle to stand up to emergency that requires mobility.

” It will be wise to intimate the Commissioner of Police officer what the command went through during EndSARS protest, which swept the entire state, leaving behind it trails, destruction, looting, death and weeping”.

The DPO said the command was speared by the protesting youths because of their fair treatment of matters within the purview of law and grace of God over the command.

While stating his achievements within the shortest period as DPO, SP Otaigbe has renovated the station and fenced the threatened part of the police barrack with the help of the command friends and PCRC ‘B” Division Chapter.

On his part, Elder Adedoyin, the chairman PCRC of ‘B’ Division Police Station commended the division’s DPO for a well done job ever since he was posted to the division.

Supporting the request of the DPO on the provision of patrol vehicle for efficiency and service delivery, Elder Adedoyin said the police under the leadership of SP Otaigbe are ready to work provided there is adequate tools to work with.

Sola Adegbonmire, the Asae of Akure Kingdom enjoined the CP to do everything within his power in making sure the state is well secured, noting that the synergy between police and Amotekun will definitely bring good result.

Dignitaries at the event includes Commissioner of Police and his team, Akure Senior High Chiefs (Odopetu, Aro and Asae), Olu of Gaga and his Chiefs, Chief Imam of Gaga, State Chairman of PCRC, the PCRC ‘B’ Division members among others.
