Ondo 2024: Non Indigenes Endorse Governor Aiyedatiwa For Continuity

Ahead of the November 16 Governorship Election in Ondo State, the Non Indigenes residing in the state have endorsed Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for continuity.

In separate solidarity visits to the Governor, the Hausa, Fulani, Igbo, Awka Ibom, Ebira and Igala communities, pledged their support and loyalty to his administration.

Speaking with the PATH, the Ochendu of Ndigbo in Ondo State, High Chief Kingsley Chukwuma who led Igbos Community on solidarity visit to the governor said the endorsement of the governor became necessary following the outstanding performances of the governor in office in less than three months.

While congratulating the governor on his new office, High Chief Kingsley commended him for not abandoning the projects of his late boss, saying unlike other Nigerian politicians that will revoke all contracts approved by their predecessors.

He urged Governor Aiyedatiwa to run inclusive government where both indigenes and non indigenes will be carried along and make to have sense of belonging.

Chief Kingsley appealed to the leadership of the ruling party in Ondo State to be critical of who pick the ticket of the party in April primary, saying governor Aiyedatiwa who has been tested should be voted to fly the flag of the party in November Poll.

He advised serial contestants to collapse their structure for the People’s Governor who God has ordained to be first citizen of Ondo State.

The Ochendu asked the governor to appoint non-indigenes as Senior Special Assistant and Special Advisers in government, noting that such appointment will help various ethnic groups in the state to have representative that can connect with the governor on issues affecting them.

He urged the government to welcome people from all tribes and provide a supportive environment for their businesses to flourish.

Governor Aiyedatiwa, while appreciating the peaceful coexistence of the various tribes in the State, said his administration would not relent in providing adequate security and enabling environment for them to thrive in their respective businesses.

He said; “We are all Nigerians with the freedom to reside anywhere, provided we abide by the law. We are governed by the same set of laws, and discrimination has no place in our society. We stand united as one Nigeria, and every law in Ondo State is designed to enhance the welfare of the people.

“As a government, we are committed to ensuring the security and welfare of our people, enabling them to lead fulfilling lives. Your well-being is our top priority, no matter which tribe you come from.”

Aprreciating the endorsement and show of love, the Governor reassured the communities of his unwavering dedication to their interests. He reiterated the importance of unity among all Nigerians, reaffirming Ondo State’s status as a welcoming home for all residents.
