Olubunmi Awe is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Winsome Bridals And Blings in Akure Ondo State Capital. A prominent player in the wedding and stoning business, spending over a decade in the industry with vast experience. Ever since she ventured into the business, she has been at the forefront of redefining the bridal fashion experience in Ondo State and South West Nigeria. She established Winsome Bridals And Blings in 2013 immediately after her NYSC, and today, a business that started small has become a leading brand in Ondo State.
HUMBLE BEGINNING:
Venturing into the bridal business is often driven by a passion for creating memorable experiences, combining creative design with high-profit potential. It allows entrepreneurs to turn a love for fashion and sewing into a lucrative, rewarding career, serving clients during one of life’s most significant milestones. Olubunmi Awe studied Hotel and Catering Management both OND and HND at the Federal Polytechnic Ede and Bida respectively, served in Taraba State (NYSC).
HOW I STARTED:
In my OND days at the Federal Polytechnic Ede, I engaged myself in tailoring skil during my holidays. I learnt how to sew wedding gowns and other material but due to my love for wedding, immediately I completed my one year mandatory NYSC programme, I ventured into bridals business, though, I stated small but today, Almighty God has enlarged our Coast.
EXPANDING MY BUSINESS:
As the first child of the family, I need to think outside the box and create something new in my business. To create a brand for myself is not a tea party; it involves dedication, hardwork, creativity and prayers. First thing I do was to relocate my shop to Oba Adesida Road, Akure, business heart of Ondo State. Aside bridals gown, I introduced cake baking, Aso Oke design among others. My stoning business could be traced to Aso-Oke and with time, we introduced modern stoning not only to Aso Oke but to other materials.

In Ondo State today, Winsome Bridals And Blings is a brand and household name in the business. We prioritize quality and standard, we partner with stoning company abroad, supplying us with the best stones and materials. Our services is affordable for both the upper and middle class. Topmost in services rendering to the public includes: Bridals, Ready to Wear, stones, Stone Boards, Stoning Services , Lasercut Services, Fibrelaser among others.
STONING SERVICES:
Our service in stoning is top-notch. We provide professional stoning for other brands or direct clients who want to upgrade plain garment. We also trade in various types of stones, pearls, motifs and stoning accessories. We are specialist in stoning business, embellishing fabrics, clothing and accessories with decorative Stones and Crystals.
OTHER SERVICES:
We don’t compromise our Brand, which is one of the reasons we teach our staff the technical skills of stone applications and motif design. Our workers are learning and earning, a two in one advantage. We recreate style and sew for both men and women.
CHALLENGES:
The bridal industry is booming, and, if run properly, it is a very profitable sector but my major challenge is the high cost of running power. We spent nothing less than N30,000 daily on fuel, aside other running expenses. To maintain our customers, our price have to be moderate, thank God, we are breaking even.
ACHIEVEMENTS:
Our major achievement is our brand that is making waves in Ondo State. We are just starting and our customers can be assured of more better service. We give grace to Almighty God because as of today, we have our own office complex in Akure.
OUR DON’T:
Our integrity and pride is very paramount to us as a brand. We don’t do copycat nor post other people brands or creative work on our social media platforms but only use our platform to showcase our brand and design created.
