The Head of School at the Khadob College, Akure Oladapo Alli Obalokun has given reason why the college prioritize good character among the core values the citadel of learning stands for.
Speaking at the end of session activities of the school, Obalokun said the event is the most fastinating activities the college students are looking up to every year.
It was two in one programme of the end of the session party and Quran Memorisation ceremony for successful students.
He noted that one of the students was given cash Price of N25,000 based on his high maintenance of good character, more also to encourage other students that their is a reward for good moral.
His words: ” Excellent and integrity are the school core values. It is our tradition to celebrate excellence and good character among our students, because it is a good character that can take people to places”.
“Soft Skills are made up of behaviour, emotional intelligence, time management , punctuality whereas hard skill is the certificate obtained from the University: people get hire because of the certificate in their hands but are fire because of lack of soft skill”.
Obalokun noted that the school placed more emphasis on good character because it drives any nation and individual to greater heights.
” Nigeria is facing challenges today because of the bad foundation laid from home and school, the outcome is unpatriotic nature of the people who never believe in the system”.
He reiterated further that the school is not after huge population but determination to develop students in their care and not building students that lack manners and characters.
The Head Teacher said the goal of the school is not about making profit but provision of quality education and raising students that can compete anywhere in the world.
” Academically, the school is not doing bad; we are a shinning example to other schools in the state. What is paramount to the proprietress of the school is qualitative education and not prioritizing profit making above core values that stand the school out. We don’t think profit, we think value”.
While congratulating the graduating students, he charged them to be good ambassador of the school, asking them to keep up with the good character imbibed in them by the school.
Advising the students, an Islamic scholar charged the graduating students to be a good ambassador of the school, saying thay should not succumb to peer group influence.
He said all they have learned from the school should be applied in their day to day activities, adding that they must be a good example of the society and good representative of their respective family.
The school cultural group entertain parents and visitors that graced the occasion. The peak of the event was the presentation of prizes to outstanding students in different categories.
