Why I will Continue To Help My People Despite Losing PDP Primary – Adu

A Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party in Ondo State, Barr Olumuyiwa Adu has promised not to relent in helping the needy, saying his lost in the just concluded PDP primary won’t discourage him from doing what he knows how to do best.

Barr Adu was an aspirant under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party, vying for Akure South and Akure North Federal House of Representatives.

He was a first runner up in the primary where he scored 19 votes as against the winner, Kemi Adesanya who polled 38 votes.

Speaking with PATH, Barr Adu said the mode of primary adopted by the party was different from the one used during the last bye election which gave victory to the winner as against the popular aspirant.

He beamoned the outcome of the primary saying PDP abandoned its best candidate for somebody who lack capacity, competency and charisma to win election.

He promised to give necessary support to the party during the campaign, saying as a loyal party man, he will not work against the interest of the party.

The PDP Chieftain said he will continue to assist the needy in the federal constituency, adding that he didn’t joined politics to amass wealth but to change the narratives of governance.

His words: ” No one in the state can match my philanthropic gesture; I can’t change who I am and I won’t stop doing good just because some people worked against my emergence in the just concluded primary”.

” I am not in politics because I want to be rich or amass wealth; God has blessed me and I think I am comfortable. I am sympathetic to the plight of my people, that is why I threw myself for service to humanity”.

Adu further noted that some of the leaders of PDP were not happy when he picked the ticket for the bye election, saying many of them worked against him and the party at all poll.

He assured the less privileged and downtrodden in the society of more assistance within resources at his disposal.
