In the next few days to come, Ondo State will definitely be in the news as there seems to be no end in sight to the feud between Governor Akeredolu and his Deputy, though the duo are pretending that all is well but the reverse is the case.
If the feelers from Aketi Kitchen Cabinet is anything to go by, more heads will soon roll as sacking of Aiyedatiwa Media Aides was mere testing the Microphone.
The one time cordial relationship between Oga and Servant has turned sour, no thanks to the holier than thou loyalists who are hell bent in silencing the Ilaje born Deputy ahead of the 2024 Governorship. All the noise of disloyalty was designed to shut Aiyedatiwa out the 2024 race; with the latest development, O’datiwa is technically out of the game.- “THEY WON”.
However, while the people of the State are expecting the Governor who just returned from Medical Vacation abroad to concentrate on governance and recovery process, the Devil Advocate and Evil Genius in the government played a fast one on the Governor’s mind, painting pictures of disloyalty, death wishes, House of Assembly gang up of impeachment among other lies against the Deputy Governor while he was away fighting for his life. To achieve their mission, they went as far as selling the same dummy of disloyalty to the First Lady who once adored Aiyedatiwa.
To the students of history, sacking of the Deputy Governor’s Media Team was a repeat of what happened to Agboola Ajayi, the tagged “Disloyal Deputy Governor” who was accused of planning to unseat his Boss and linked to the ailment of Akeredolu’s at that period of time.
If Agboola was tagged Desperate Deputy and now Aiyedatiwa has been accused of the same offense, then, the Governor must check himself. Where did he get it wrong with these men he onced trusted?
Meanwhile, I might not be too wrong if I say the problem Aketi is having with his Deputies mainly come from misinformation and lies from the perceived loyalists for selfish motives.
More also, to say that the sledge hammer will soon hit the heads of some Commissioners and SAs who the “Cabals” have marked their faces as loyalists of the Deputy Governor is an understatement.The Excos were polarised at a point in time where some Commissioners pitched their tent with Aiyedatiwa while Aketi Boys also ensured Aiyedatiwa was just a mere toothless Acting Governor.
This kind of bickering is not new considering the Guber election ahead of the State, though, Aketi is not going to be on the ballot but desperate politicians in the State are ready to play dirty to get the party ticket. Ondo State has followed the foot steps of its neighbor, Edo State where Obaseki/ Shuiabu are slugging it out in the power play.
Akeredolu has not only photocopied Edo Governor by sacking the Media Aides of his Deputy, but also technically shut him out of limelight. Who knows, maybe the Office of the Deputy Governor might soon be relocated from the Alagbaka Governor’s Office to one old building in Obaseki’s style.
I am not saying Aiyedatiwa is innocent of the allegations level against him if there’s is any genuine one at all, but let the man breath. Like Boyscout, he should be prepared because more knocks and persecution await him. I’m not a political prophet but the Deputy Governor should prepare for impeachment move and if his name speaks for him “LUCKY” and he escapes the sledge hammer of the rubber stamp Assembly, he will end up being an outcast in the government he helped put in place.
This crisis brewing is a season film that will swallow a lot of people even some loyalists of the Governor who the powerful cabals have blacklisted for romancing the Deputy Governor while Aketi was in Germany.
