The Sarkin Hausawa of Akure Kingdom, Babangida Alhaji Sadiq Kusada said that, the traditional rulers have critical roles to play in peace building and security of lives and property of their respective domain and community.

Babaginda Alhaji who doubles as the Chairman of Ondo State Hausa/Arewa Community’s Council in Chiefs disclosed this while chatting with the PATH at his palace, Shasha Community along Ondo Road, Akure.

He noted that, traditional rulers are major stakeholders that play key roles in terms of improving intelligence gathering about the movement of and activities of residents in their community.

According to him, “We are the closest people to the residents of our community. We have first class information and people prefer to provide sensitive information to us because they believe we won’t trade them for selfish interest”.

He enjoined relevant authority to collaborate and unite with the traditional institutions in their fight against kidnappers, bandits and other criminals element.

Sarkin commended the governor of Ondo State, Hon Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for prioritizing the security of lives and property of the people of the state while describing him as a listening governor that place high value and respect for traditional rulers.

Meanwhile, he congratulated the Muslims faithful as they celebrate the 2025 Eid-el-fitri while charging them to continue to live a decent lives free of sins.

He urged both Muslims and Christians to always strive for unity and celebrate the strength in Nigeria diversity.
