STONEWORKS CEO Advocates Consumption of Made in Nigeria Products, Bags Leadership Award

Mr Safe Oluwafemi, a foremost industrialist in Ondo State has advocated for patronage and consumption of Made in Nigeria Products as substitute for foreign goods that is having adverse effects on the country’s economy and manufacturing industry.

Mr Safe is the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Stoneworks Industry Nigeria Limited, a mining industry in Akure, Ondo State.

Speaking at the 10th anniversary of the Chronicle Magazine held at Sunbeth Event Hall, Akure, Mr Safe who was one of the awardees said Nigeria Industrialists have the ingenuity to compete favourably in the global market provided Nigerians cultivate the habit of patronizing and consuming made in Nigeria goods.

His words: ” It is our desire to continue to promote Made in Nigeria goods and creating more employment for our people, making sure what we consume are made in Nigeria”.

He noted that the patronage of locally made products would create more jobs, reduce poverty and also boost the development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSMES) across the country.

The CEO added further that, the country’s economy can be diversity through Agriculture and Manufacturing industries where a lot of jobs opportunity abound for the teeming populace.

He called for fast tracking of import substitution, diversification and industrialization of the economy.

Mr Safe enjoined Nigeria government to invest in infrastructure mostly on road and power which he described as the biggest challenges facing manufacturing industry in Nigeria.

Meanwhile, in recognition of his laudable contributions to the economy of Ondo State, the Chronicle Magazine conferred on him Industry Leadership Award.

In his reaction to the prestigious honour, he commended the News Tabloid for beaming its search light into the activities of his company, promising to continue to invest in the state economy and supporting the government of the state on jobs creation.

Mr Safe Oluwafemi was born over four decades ago in the ancient town of Uso in Owo Local Government Area Council. He obtained his Bachelor of Art Degree from Babcock University, Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Canada.

He began his career in Public Accounting in Toronto, Ontario, Canada before transitioning to IT Finance with Tech Data and SYNNEX Corporation, Multiple Fortune 500 Company Stainless Corporation, Assistant Vice-President at Bank of America, Assistant General Manager at the Union Bank for Africa Group. He later went to University of Baltimore in 2004.

Despite his banking experience, his dream of becoming industrialist came to reality with the setting up a company which has today spread tentacles both home and abroad.

Mr Safe is currently the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Stoneworks Industries Limited, a granite mining company with multiple leases in Ondo State.

He also double as the CEO of her logistics subsidiary. His passion for human capital and economic development has led him to develop multiple investment portfolio in diverse sectors ranging from Mining, Healthcare, Logistics, Agriculture and Hospitality both home and abroad with over 100 employees in Ondo State.

He co-founded Beatrice Oluwasanya Foundation (BOF), a community based NGO with focus on helping indigent students access education and skills.

Mr Safe is a member of the Institute of Directors, Nigeria and currently serves as the Hon Treasurer for the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, Oyo, Ondo, Osun and Ekiti State Chapters.
