The Principal of CAC Grammar School Akure, Dr Toyin Theophilus Olobayo has strongly condemned the unruly behavior of some students posted on social media during their unofficial sign out, saying government must find a way of stopping the ceremony.
The erudite Principal stated this while feeding questions from journalists concerning the sign out ceremony which has become a public discussion.
Olobayo said since he assumed office as the Principal of CAC Grammar School Akure, he has changed the narrative of indiscpline and act of immorality among students of the school, setting a new rule that has reshaped the thinking and pysche of every student.
His words: On assumption of office as the principal of the school, we have a special clothes for erring students who disobey rules and regulations of the school. We sown 25 jackets, of which, any student that violate the rules and regulations would wear the jacket, to other students, it is more of blacklisting the students as an outcast that must not be related with”.
The Principal added that, Black Book was opened for students caught committing offences and measurable punishment would be given as a deterrent to other students.
Olobayo said the measure put in place by his leadership has helped curb a lot of criminal acts among the students, saying the finding of the School Disciplinary Committee will determine studentship of erring students or not.
His words: ” The school authority has expelled five students under my leadership for different offences. We have handed over some expelled students to the police, who are still using our school uniform to commit crimes. At CAC Grammar School, we have zero tolerance to indiscpline and act of immorality”.
Speaking on the Viral video of some SSS 3 students signing out, Olobayo said no graduating student of the school were either arrested or fall victim of results being withheld by the Ministry of Education as earlier reported.
” It is beyond the reach of the principal to control every action of the students outside the school premises. Having heard of the planned sign out by some students, we informed the police but it unfortunate that little can the police do to manage the situation”.
He appealed to parents to caution their children and teach them moral value and way of living a righteous lives devoid of immorality.
The Principal charged the government through Ministry of Education to set up a task force that will be going around during school hours with sole aim of apprehending students roaming about the street during school hours.
Olobayo asked the government to mobilize the school in case of unforseen circumstances that is milking the school dry, by providing logistics to meet unexpected challenges.
