NCWS Mourns Ondo Journalist, Sola Ilesanmi

A Women Group in Ondo State, National Council of Women Societies (NCWS) has described the untimely death of award-winning journalist in Ondo State, Shola Ilesanmi, as a rude shock to the society and entire state.

Until his death, Sola Ilesanmi was a correspondent with the British Broadcasting Corporation, BBC. He gave up the ghost on Tuesday after a brief illness.

Speaking on the demise of the journalist, the President of the group, Pastor Mrs Jumoke Aborode said, Ilesanmi death is a great loss not only to the pen’s profession but to his family.


While sympathizing with the mother, Mrs Aborode said the hardworking mother has loss a great son who she loss to the cold hands of death at his prime age. ” The prayer of every hardworking mother is to reap the fruit of her labour but it is unfortunate that Sola Ilesanmi stayed in this sinful world was very short”.

She described the Late journalist as an enterprising and resourceful young man whose passion for journalism was immeasurable.

The President commiserates with the immediate family of the deceased, particularly his young wife, mother, family, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Ondo State Council, friends and colleagues.
