HOR APC primaries: I will win in a free, fair, credible poll – Abena

One of the leading aspirants in the February 26 Bye Election in Akure South and Akure North, Hon Ifedayo Abegunde has said he is confidence of winning today’s primary of the All Progressive Congress.
He stated this while feeding questions from newsmen at The Dome, venue of the primary.
The seat became vacant following the demise of Late Adedayo Omolafe, representing Akure South and North Federal Constituency.
Eight aspirants have shown interest in picking the APC ticket. The National body of the party has slated 1st of February, 2022 for the primary.
Speaking, Abena as popularly called said ordinarily he should be given the ticket, saying he is only contesting to complete the term of Late Expensive at the Lower Chamber and not interested in 2023 House of Representatives election.
The two terms member of the House of Representatives said he possessed cognate experience to bring dividend of good governance to his people within the few months remaining of “Late Expensive” term in office.
He stated further that, the current Speaker of the House, Rt Hon Femi Gbajabiamila is a colleague of which it will be easy for him to lobby good things to his federal constituency.
He commended Governor Akeredolu for allowing level playing ground in the contest, noting that he stands a better chance of winning the primary if the contest is free and fair.
He promised to abide by the outcome of the primary provided is free, fair and credible.
