Hon. Omowunmi Olatunji MHR Ambition receive boost as Progressive Young Women Forum Drum Support

The need for members of Akure South/North Federal Constituency to vote Hon. Omowunmi Ohwovoriole, the only woman contestant for the seat under the platform of the All Progressive Congress ( APC), to represent them at the lower chamber has again received a boost as the group under the leadership of the National Woman Leader, Hon Stella Okotete, the Progressive Young Women Forum ( A Platform for all progressive young women between the ages of 18-40 years. (Ondo State chapter )again threw its weight behind her aspiration.

Speaking in an interview with Newsmen on Sunday, 30th January, 2022 in Ondo State, the Interim National President of the group, Comrade Osamaye Seun said that Women are under represented in elective positions in our political space in Ondo State over the years and that it was high time to encourage and support women that are bold enough to compete with their male counterparts.

According to her, Ekiti, Ogun, Osun and Oyo States has at least one woman as MHR out of the several alloted spaces for representation at the lower chamber saying Lagos State has no woman as MHR but a female senator ( Sen. Remi Tinubu) while Ondo State has none.

Seun Osamaye who said it was high time Ondo State people change the narratives by supporting and voting in Hon. Ohwovoriole who has over the years acquired meaningful political experience as a Former two-term House of Assembly member in Lagos and in various other capacities.

Comrade Osamaye said the endorsement is without any reservation as Hon. Omowunmi not only possess a unique blend of executive and legislative experience to push for and implement reform that will deliver real improvements but also has all it takes to make meaningful impact in Akure South/North Federal Constituency.

Also speaking, Ondo State representative of the group, Comrade Temitope Iwagun said this is a life time opportunity for the people to birth the desired change as the opportunity has come to them on a platter of gold.

In the same vein, Comrade Omolara Akinrogbe, another state representative of the group, who used the opportunity to reiterate the need to give women chance to be involved in governance so that they are directly involved in decisions that affects them saying a vote for Omowumi is a vote for woman’s voice.

The group however urged party leadership, Executives, Stakeholders and faithfuls to please support Hon. Ohwovoriole in the coming APC Primary Election scheduled for the coming week so that she can become the candidate of the party and be in a position to represent the good people of Akure North and Akure South Federal Constituency.
