Group Lauds Akeredolu On Women Appointment

In an effort to register her profound gratitude to Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, the State President of National Council for Women Societies (NCWS), Pastor Mrs Jumoke Aborode has lauded the governor astuteness in appointing women of substance into his cabinet.
It could be recalled that, since inception of Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu as the governor of the Sunshine State, history has been made with the appointment of women into sensitive positions.
Of the commissioners and Special Advisers recently appointed by the governor, women make up about 30 percent of the cabinet.
The President said she was making a request earlier on the need for the governor to appoint more women in his cabinet not knowing that Governor Akeredolu has already perfected the list of next appointees where women are adequately represented compare to what it use to be in the past.
She commended the appointment of Mrs Bamidele Ademola Olateju, Dr Julianah Oshadahun, Mrs Yetunde Adeyanju, Hon Lola Fagbemi, Dr Wunmi Ilawole and Mrs Olamide Falana into his cabinet.
“This is a big congratulation to NCWS in Ondo State as our Research Coordinator in Ese Odo LG, Mrs Olamide Falana and Olubunmi Osadahun from Akoko North West Local Government, Okeagbe made the list of new appointees. This is no doubt a plus to NCWS in Ondo state”.
She noted that women as a mother in the society have so much to offer in politics adding that Ondo State is blessed and endowed with women of substance, saying it takes a wise man to notice such quality in women.
In her words, ” Governor Akeredolu is a great politician who has great vision for governance. He has demonstrated that by enabled woman to become the first female Secretary to the State Government in the history of the state”.
The President thanked Governor Akeredolu for being a gender sensitive leader that value woman, adding that the First Lady of the state, Chief Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu magnanimity to women deserve accolades in all ramifications.
She further pleaded with the governor to always consider women for sensitive positions whenever any opportunity arises. ” Like Oliver Twist, we need more women in seat of authority and we can assure Mr Governor of our unyielding support for his administration as he continue to uplift women in the state”.
She congratulates all the appointees, charging them to discharge their duties in line with the REDEMEED agenda of the governor.
Meanwhile, Mrs Aborode appealed to men in politics to always support women aspiring for leadership position,saying what women need from men is encouragement. ” We are not out to compete with men but to complement their efforts in building a better society””.
She charged politicians in the state to emulate Governor Akeredolu whose love for women is unequal.
