Fiwasaye Principal, Dr Omobola Ojoge Hosts Newspaper Proprietors, Journalists, Seeks More Media Partnership

Dr (Mrs) Omobola Ojoge, the Principal of Fiwasaye Girls’ Grammar School, Akure, has hosted publishers of Newspaper and journalists in Ondo state to a Love feast in appreciation of the cordial relationship enjoyed with the media proprietors in the state.

In what has been the first of it kind in Ondo State for a principal to host journalists, Mrs Ojoge has set a new record for other principals in the state to emulate.

The event that was held at the School Dinning Hall have several Media Owners and Journalists in attendance alongside teachers of the school, where guests were treated to a sumptuous meal.

In her remarks, Ojoge said the gathering was organized to appreciate journalists for their sustained support and contributions to the growth and development of Fiwasaye Girls’ Grammar School Akure.

She noted that the event also signified the beginning of a new chapter aimed at strengthening the already cordial relationship between the school and the media.

“ I want to use this get together to further cement better relationship with the journalists in Ondo State, especially with Community Newspapers who have been there with me since I was appointed Principal of this great school”.

” For always reporting every news about the school, I am honored and I will continue to support the media within the available resources at my disposal. We are partner in progress and I value every report each and every one of you do on the school”.

The Principal assured journalists that the new phase of collaboration between the school and the media would be continuously strengthened.

She requested for more media partnership saying she will continue to hold journalists in the state in high esteem.

Ojoge thanked journalists in the state, most especially the community newspaper publishers for always reporting the activities of the school without compromising the ethic of their profession.

In a separate reaction to the principal gestures, the Editor in Chief of PATH NEWS, Dupson Collins described the gathering as symbolic, noting that it reflects the principal’s openness and deliberate commitment to partnering with journalists in the state.

His words: Dr Ojoge has set a new record in Ondo State as the first principal to host journalists and Media Owners in the state. I am not surprised, going by her records of setting the pace for others to follow, she happened to be the first principal whose tenure built the first storey building classrooms in Fiwasaye- Jane Pelly Educational Building”.

In same vein, the publishers of Citymovers, Topshot, Trumpet, Democrat, Ambassador, Dingi Oodua, Trace Magazines and others extolled the virtues of the Principal whom they described as humility personified, accomodating and unique among her contemporaries in the state.

While praying for her, they appeal to other principals in the state to emulate Dr Ojoge democratic leadership style and friendliness to the Media saying, the principal never underated any media that visited her office for either clarification or media engagement.
