Federal lawmaker, Rep Akingbaso Appoints Rescued Accident Victim Special Assistant, Offsets Medical Bills of Other In-Patients

Goodness is often masked in pains, how do we narrate an accident victim’s fate lying in his pool of blood, writhing in his pains, thought centred on whether he would make it or otherwise and unaware of what could come up next.

The above describes the fate of Mr. Aleji Abaji Ernest whom was an accident victim of motor bikes accident coming from opposing directions on the Friday 24th May, 2024 at about 6:30 pm along Yaba Road, Idanre. He lied semi consciously in his own pool of blood with sprained pelvis, the continuous oozing of blood from the cranium was a bit of concern to the onlookers and sympathisers alike. These activities caused jam which hindered traffic free flow.

Earlier in the day, Hon. Festus O. Akingbaso and his entourage were returning from an official visit to some of his constituency, he made a detour at Yaba junction with the purpose of going to Akure via Yaba road to Ijoka. The hues from the crowd drew his attention to the incident. He ordered his vehicle to halt as he alighted to personally assess the situation. He sought for the use of bike to transport the accident victim on the road to a nearby hospital as the other one had been taken away by his relatives.

Due to the heavy traffic logjam, he could not keep track of the accident victim but he wrongly informed that the victim was taken to another hospital and Fessy West tracked him to Hope Hospital but he didn’t meet him there, he had to proceed to the General Hospital, Alade and it was same story. He had to send emisaries to hospitals before the victim’s location was identified.

He got to Opeyemi Hospital, Yaba by around 8:00 pm as the accident victim had been stabilised after treatment and was on bed rest. After exchange of pleasantary with the medical team, his treatment bills were paid by the MHR, Hon. Festus Akingbaso. He went round the ward to see other In-patients and paid for their medical expenses as well.

When Mr Eleji Abaji Ernest was discharged on Sunday, 26th May, 2024 he was quite appreciative of the gesture of the Federal Legislator and praised him to the high heavens.

Adding icing to the cake, Hon. Festus O. Akingbaso appoints Mr. Ernest Abaji Aleji as his Special Assistant. Mr Ernest is from Ebonyi State.
