Eid-el-fitr: Sustain Lessons of Ramadan Says Olurese, Greets Muslims Faithful

The Olurese of Irese, Oba Ahmed Destiny Saka has joined other well-wishers across the world to congratulate the Muslims faithful on the successful completion of Ramadan fasting.

In his Sallah message, the Muslim monarch said Ramadan should be a period of sober reflection and period of supplication to Almighty Allah.

According to Olurese, the Ramadan period is characterised by total submission to God, self denial as well as abstinence from vices.

He stressed the need for every Muslim to sustain the abstinence from vices while upholding the teachings of Prophet Mohammed.

“We should continue to show love, forgiveness and respect to one another while the lessons of the Ramadan must reflect in our daily lives,” he said.

He advised them not to be carried away by only the pageantry of the Sallah, but to use it for sober reflection.

While emphasising the importance of peace, unity and tolerance, he urged everyone to extend hands of love and support to the needy in the society.

His words, “The virtues of the sacrifice should be sustained beyond the Ramadan by Muslims; the fasting period makes believers appreciate the impact of hunger and be more committed to the hardships of millions who cannot feed themselves.

He congratulated all Muslims in Ondo State most especially in Irese Community, families for the grace of seeing the beginning and end of Ramadan while also praying for good and sound health for the Governor of Ondo, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN CON.
