Coronation: I will Forever be grateful to Ondo First Lady, Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu- Abo- Asakin

Oba Dr. Adebayo Sunday Ademehinti (Ade Ori Okin), the Asakin of Abo Asakin Kingdom has said he will forever be grateful to the First Lady of Ondo State, Chief Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu over the elevation of the royal stool by the government of Ondo State.
Abo Asakin is a community in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State.The monarch on Tuesday, 13th December, 2022, made history as the first monarch in the community to receive instrument of appointment and staff of office from the Ondo State Government.
Speaking, the Monarch thanked the governor and his wife, Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu for counting him and community worthy to be promoted, describing the First Lady as the pillar of success of Abo Asakin.
He said God used her to elevate and promote the status of Abo Asakin which necessitated the presentation of Instrument of Appointment and Staff of Office to him.
According to him, ” We will not forget the favour done on us by the First Lady. Her name will be written in gold in the history of the community. May Almighty God reward her and her family for bringing us to limelight and recognition among comity of towns in Ondo State”.
He appealed to other community to learn the act of giving saying his kind gesture to the First Lady by donating 12 Plot of Lands for BRECAN was rewarded with the upgrading of Abo Asakin Royal Stool to its new status.
” While the upgrading of royal fathers were been done, the First Lady thought it wise to facilitate the upgrading of the community that hosted BRECAN which led to the celebration among sons and daughters of my community today. God used her to set a new record in Abo Asakin as I become the first monarch to be recognized by the government”.
The monarch noted that with the new status, the government presence will soon be felt in the community, adding that Abo Asakin needs social amenities that will help investor to develop the agrarian community.
The traditional institutions in Abo Asakin was among the traditional stools elevated to the status of recognized Obas by Ondo state Government under the leadership of Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN CON in line with the recommendation of the report of Justice Ajama Commission on Chieftaincy matter in the state.
While Congratulating the monarch, the representative of the governor, Hon Dele Ologun said the recognition of the stool followed due process and it was in line with necessary law, telling him to use his elevation to unite every member of the community.
The Governor used the occasion to charge traditional rulers to assist government in providing security as they are the closest to the people at various communities.
Akeredolu warned all the traditional rulers that were recently given Staff of Office to exercise their right and power within their community, saying they should not installed Baale or Olu outside their domains.
In her goodwill message, the First Lady, congratulated the monarch and members of the community for the history making coronation, promising to use her good office to facilitate rapid development to the community.
She said the reward of kindness and support to BRECAN by the Monarch some years back without expecting anything in return encouraged her to facilitate the upgrading, assuring him of gradual development.
In his own address, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon Akinwumi Sowore while congratulating the monarch for scaling through due process recognized by the law, said the government will continue to engage traditional rulers through robust engagement towards meetings the needs of the people.
In attendance includes First Lady Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, Hon Dele Ologun, Hon Akinwumi Sowore, the SSA to the State Governor on Security matters, Alhaji Jimoh Dojumo, monarchs and traditional heads from different communities.
