The Ondo State APC Elders’ Caucus has told the Acting Governor of Ondo State, Hon Lucky Aiyedatiwa to call the State Chairman of the Party to Order, Engr Ade Adetimehin saying Monday Meeting invitation sent to some leaders is an invitation to anarchy in the party.
It could be recalled that normalcy has returned to the state with the Deputy Governor leading the State in Acting capacity as the State Governor Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN has proceeded on a medical vacation abroad.
The resolution of transferring power to the Deputy Governor was finally assented to by the State House of Assembly after the second meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Abuja.
The Secretary of the APC Elders Caucus, Otunba Agboola Kelly said the emergency meeting called by Adetimehin is to further disorganize the party and it is of no interest to the wellbeing of the state.
He added that Adetimehin played a major role in disobeying the order of the President that power should be transferred to the Deputy Governor in the first meeting with the president which is still very fresh in the memory of the party’s member.
His words: “The ignoble role of Adetimehin in the recent disobedience to the National Leadership directives is still very fresh in mind because it’s an action that will definitely affect all members chances of getting into the good books of Abuja for some time to come’ , He stated.
The Group Secretary further said any meeting without the approval of the Acting Governor who is the leader of the Party in the state as of today is selfish and for personal motive which is detrimental to the unity of the party.
” I wish to appeal to the Ondo State Leader of our great Party, APC, His Excellency, Hon Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa, the Acting Governor, to please caution Engr Adetimehin against further disorganisation of the party for his personal selfish reasons which are detrimental to the unity of our party”
Otunba Kelly warned the leadership of the party in the state to stay clear of anything that can truncate the relative peace and unity being enjoyed in the state.
