CAC Grammar School, Akure Alumni Rolls Out Activities For 60th Founder’s Day

The Old Students Association of the CAC Grammar School Akure under the leadership of Chief Akinsanmi Emmanuel Olatunji has rolled out activities celebrating the 60th Founder’s Day of the great citadel of learning.
CAC Grammar School Akure was founded on the 26th of March 1965 and graduated its first set in 1969.
Addressing Newsmen in Akure on the activities lined up for the anniversary, the National President of the School’s Alumni Association, Chief Akinsanmi Olatunji said registration of Old students and collection of Anniversary Materials begin on Monday 24th of March where 612 have been registered for the event.
On Tuesday 25th, they will assemble at the school Assembly Ground, dress in their school uniform before proceeding on a Road Walk from the school compound to Deji Palace on a courtesy visit.
Wednesday, March 26th, it’s the school founder day’s cum symposium where Hon Justice Adekunle Lawal Stanley, the President of Customary Court of Appeal, Abuja will deliver a lecture as the keynote speaker among other guest speakers at the School Auditorium. All Alumni will dress in their customized shirt for the event and awards will be given to outstanding individual.
On Thursday, 27th, the Old students will celebrate Asa Day with the students and Ankara is the dressing code, career talk, Health Check and lecture among other activities.
Friday, is the school Inter-House Sports and football Match between senior and junior and the Grand finale of the anniversary is on Saturday, that is for Dinner, Award Nite and Fund raising for the development of the school.
To crown a week long anniversary program is the thanksgiving at the school Multipurpose Auditorium where all glory will be returned to God for a successful outing.
Speaking further, Chief Akinsanmi said celebrating 60th Founder’s Day is a milestone in the life of a school that has produced great men and women in different fields, noting that CAC Grammar School Akure is the first to produce Director General of NYSC in Ondo State, NUC Chairman among others top ranking positions in the country.
He commended the cooperation of old students association of various sets for their support for the school saying the school needs to be upgraded and renovated to meet the standard its used to be noted for.
The National President urged the Alumni of the school to keep on giving back to their Alma mater saying government alone can’t provide all the needs of the school.
“CAC Grammar School Akure is our Alma mater and we shall continue to give back to it. I commend our members who have been reaching out to the school. As we all know, government alone can’t do it and it won’t be out of order if we contribute to the development of our school as individual or as a set”.
He added that, under his leadership, CAC Grammar School Alumni is having its first database where 600 people have so far been registered, noting that, it is just the beginning of the exercise as they are targeting comprehensive database for all old students of the school.
” Through the school Alumni, many people have connected with his or her classmates and seniors and a lot of people have received assistance or favour through this platform”.
In the same vein, His Lordship, Dapo Adebayo who is the National Secretary of the Alumni and the Secretary of Central Planning Committee said the lined up activities for the 60th Founder’s Day was designed for a memorable event that will not only linger for a long time but unite and cement new relationship among classmates, seniors and juniors of the school.
He enjoined old students of the school to continue to contribute their quotas to the development and facelift of the school.
