CAC Grammar School 60th Anniversary: Deji Asks Alumni Association To Support Govt in school Development

The Deji of Akureland, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi, has enjoined the Old Students Association of CAC Grammar School Akure to continue to support government in the development of their alma mater saying government alone can’t provide needed infrastructure in the school.

He said this while playing host to students and members of alumni of the CAC Grammar School Akure during a courtesy visit paid to his palace as part of the event commemorating the 60th anniversary of the school establishment.

The monarch who was happy to receive the old students said that for the overall development of the public schools in the country, the old students must not relent in giving back to their Alma mater as a way of saying thank you to the school that made them.

He congratulated the school and old students for the celebration of its 60 years of existence, describing CAC Grammar School as one of the best in Akure and always at the forefront in sporting activities.

Oba Aladetoyinbo prayed for the school while admonishing the current students to emulate the old students who have been contributed to the development of their Alma mater.

” To the students, be diligent and hardworking in your studies so as to excell in life and give back to your alma mater like your seniors”.

He thanked the old students for their contributions to the facelift of the school while asking them not to relent in their effort in developing the school.

Deji further noted that, alumni associations are critical stakeholders and must partner with the government to ensure the growth and development of their former school.

His words: ” I am appealing to you that, as an individual, groups, graduating class of different sets, chapters of Alumni both at home and diaspora as a matter of necessity should endeavors to support the public schools in the provision of basic needs and infrastructure”.

Speaking, Chief Akinsanmi Olatunji, the National President of the CAC Grammar School Old Students Association said the courtesy visit to Deji Palace was to officially inform the monarch of the 60th Founder’s Day celebration of the school and also pay homage as the royal father of Akure Kingdom.

He added that, the visit is also to receive the royal blessings as they celebrate the school golden jubilee.

The National President assured the Oba Aladetoyinbo of continue support and contributions to the development of the school saying they can’t forget their root.

The Principal of the school, Mrs Mercy Adetimehin while thanking the monarch for warm reception, also lauded the old students for the level of development the school has witnessed through their efforts.
