Brigadier Gen Abubakar Extols COAS, says Completion of Projects will boost Troops Efficiency
The Commander of the 32 Artillery Brigade, Akure, Ondo State, Brigadier General ZL Abubakar has extolled the giant strides of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai for providing good leadership and ensure welfare of military personnel top his priority.
He stated this in his opening address at the commissioning of projects funded by the Chief of Army Staff Special Intervention Fund at Owena Cantonment, Akure.
The projects commissioned by the representative of the Chief of Army Staff, Major General Anthony Omozoje. the General Officer Commanding(GOC), 2 Division were the renovation of MOQ 14, CBQ 25 & 34, construction of special CBQ by MOD and renovation of the Command Day Secondary School.
” It is on record that today’s achievement is greatly attributed to your honest and transparent style of leadership”.
He appreciated the COAS for approving robust welfare package for the 32 Artillery Brigade, saying troops under the Brigade will give their best in terms of commitment, loyalty, resilience and discipline.
” Any operation which 2 Division is involve like fight against kidnapping, herders/ farmers clashes, banditry and Armed Robbery, our troops will give in their best. We can’t afford to fail the COAS who has been so magnanimous to our brigade”.
The Commander commended the synergy and collaboration among the security agencies in Ondo State, adding that since he came to the Brigade, there is no inter agency rivalry among the sister agencies.
” Provided all agencies abide by the rules of engagement, there won’t be any reason for inter agencies clashes”.
He extolled the professionalism of the military in the brigade as no case of accidental discharge has been recorded mainly during the just concluded Endsars protest in Ondo and Ekiti States.
He thanked the GOC for the special interest in the 32 Artillery Brigade, saying his support, frequent visits and professional guidance has transformed the brigade in the state.
He also commended the governor of Ondo State, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for his continuous support to the Brigade.
” During the 2021 Armed Forces Rememberance Day, the governor gave cheques to the widows and children of the fallen heroes and those still living to boost their business”.
While addressing the guest, representative of the COAS, Major General Anthony Omozoje, said Lt General Tukur Buratai has continued to drive his welfare of the army and will do everything in ensuring the troops and their dependants are well taken of.
He said the project being commissioned at the Owena Cantonment is being replicated across all the army cantonments in Nigeria. “There is no aspect of welfare that has not be touched and in term of infrastructure in this cantonment, the hospital has been expanded and equipped with state of art equipment.
The GOC described the vision of General Tukur Buratai as a professional responsibility of Nigerian Army in discharge their constitutional role among others also to rest on the very vital pillar of welbeing of the officers, men and families.
“We are here on July, 2020 to commission some accommodation blocks and today we are here again to do the same, in addition with our school renovated, borehole sung, a fire fighter equipment vehicle approved and released for the use of this brigade.
In his response, the representative of the Governor, the Secretary to the State Government, Hon Temitayo Oluwatuyi commended the collaboration of the brigade with the state government, adding that the robust relationship has no doubt yielded positive results in the state.
He thanked the COAS for boosting the morale of the army in the state, saying boosting of the troops morale will further bring efficiency in their service to the nation..
Meanwhile, the Commander enjoined all the security agencies in the state to work together in other to provide adequate security to the people of the state.
