APC Rep Candidate, Princess Omowunmi Ohwovoriole Names Ondo State Woman of the Year
The All Progressive Congress (APC) House of Representatives candidate for Akure South and Akure North Federal Constituency, Hon (Princess) Omowunmi Ohwovoriole has been named Ondo State Woman of the Year by the leading News Tabloid in Ondo State, PATH NEWS.
The former two terms House of Assembly Member and former Commissioner was nominated and voted massively for in a public poll conducted by the Award Planning Committee. Princess Omowunmi in Ondo State of today is the Most Popular and Accessible Female Politician in the Sunshine State.
She is the first female politician from Ondo State to have won a seat in another State Assembly for two terms (Lagos State House of Assembly) and she about to make another history as the first female from Ondo State to be elected into the House of Representatives.
The award decoration and investiture ceremony would be held at the OSDPC Event Centre, IJapo Estate, Akure, on the 27th September, as part of the line up activities celebrating the 8th anniversary of the PATH NEWS Magazine and Sunshine State Achivers Award 2026 edition.
The program is expected to draw dignitaries from across the state and beyond, of which penciled down My Choice Founder for the highest honour of ONDO STATE WOMAN OF THE YEAR.
In a Press Statement released by the Planning Committee, the nomination of Princess WUNMI as popularly called was by popular request based on his exemplary leadership, outstanding contributions to humanity and community development among others life touching initiatives.
Part of the activities line up for the program includes public Lecture titled ” 2027:Poll: Godfathers, Money Politics And Electoral Violence In Nigeria: Effect on Free and Fair Elections” to be delivered by Pastor St Rufus Olalere.
Launching of the Pathcare Leadership Foundation, Unveiling of Special Brochure, Award presentation among others side attractions will form part of the activities celebrating PATH @ 8 and the 2026 Sunshine State Achievers Award.
His Excellency, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, Governor of Ondo State is expected at the occasion as Chief Host and Special Guest of Honour.
The well celebrated Sunshine State Achivers Award would be chaired by Dr Thomas Wilson -Ikubese, the CMD of Skye Hospital and former Presidential Aspirant, and co-chaired by Chief Akindele Omole, the Bobaselu of Odigbo Kingdom, Otunba Benji Oloye is the Chief Launcher.
All prominent personalities expected at the event include APC State Chairman, Hon Kolawole Babatunde, Sir Olusegun Odusola, Head of Service, Prof Bayo Ilawole, Permanent Secretary, Ondo State Local Government Service Commission, Comrade Fredrick Akinrinlola, NULGE President Ondo State,, CEO/DG of OSRC Media Group, Mr Kenneth Odusola -Stevenson among others personalities.
