A serving Member of the House of Representatives and aspirant in the disrupted Akure South and Akure North APC primary, Hon Mayokun Lawson-Alade has said with the hoodlums attacked and disruption of the primary held at Ade Super Hotel, no election took place.
He made this statement while chatting with newsmen, saying the counting of ballot papers were ongoing when the hoodlums broke in and no result could be recorded in that situation.
His words: ” As far as I am concerned, no election take place. The leadership of the party should organise re-run. The hoodlums that attacked the hall broke in when they knew I was coasting to victory after sorting of the ballot papers”.
He lamented how his agents and supporters were attacked by the suspected thugs.
LAF as popularly called said one of the aspirants foresaw the eventuality when he complained of his picture not be on the ballot papers.
Describing the primary inconclusive, he urged the party to conduct another transparent primary that will be crisis free.
Meanwhile, the APC Primary Committee Chairman has declared Prince Derin Adesida as the winner of the primary having scored the highest votes of 65, whereas Hon Mayokun Alade scored 44 votes and Olufemi Fadairo scored 03.
Total number of accredited voters -114, valid votes -112 and void votes -02.
Journalists monitoring the election has to take cover as heavy gun shots rented the air.
The thugs forced their ways into the hall as the Primary Committee Chairman started counting votes after sorting of ballot papers.
