A philanthropist and House of Representatives hopeful, Princess Omowunmi Olatunji-Ohwovoriole has disclosed that she won’t leave anybody out in her well cut out programme if elected in the forthcoming bye election into the Akure South and Akure North Federal House of Representatives of the National Assembly.

She stated this during her annual Xmas Palliative distributions to the aged and widows at the Akure City Hall, Akure, Ondo State.

In what has become an annual event for the philanthropist politician to celebrate with the needy in the spirit of Xmas which is more of showing love and sharing with the less privileged, the over 700 widows and aged went home with different food items enough to feed a family of four for weeks.

Smiling home with various food items ranging from 2kg of rice, 2kg of beans, noodles, sachet groundnut oil, salt, seasoner, among others, the beneficiaries could not but prayed for Princess Omowunmi who God has used to provide food on their tables condering the hardship in the country.

While speaking with the PATH, Princess Omowunmi said If given the ticket of the All Progressive Congress in the forthcoming bye election, everyone across different party lines will definitely vote for her based on her antecedent of being an indiscriminate politician and a grassrooter.

” Omowunmi is a household name; I don’t discriminate nor ask for party lines before rendering assistance. I am not the kind of person that will ask if you are APC or PDP before helping, I don’t do that but I still give priority to my party, that does not mean I will leave out anybody”.

Meanwhile, Princess Omowunmi said she established Monisola Adeniyan Eddo Foundation in 2003 to actualised the dream of her late mother who was compassionate about the needy, poor and less privileged in the society.

The Former Commissioner stated further that, her FEED THEM FOUNDATION was established mainly to cater for less privileged, youths and women, saying the idea of giving back to the society; especially the needy, widows and aged was borne out of her humane love for humanity.

“Every year we celebrate Jesus Christ and the best people to celebrate with are people who cannot cook Jollof rice in their various homes. In the years past, we cater for 2000 persons and more but couldn’t meet up this year due to other issues. We only attend to 700 widows and aged people. When you do this, you have not only fed 700 but you have fed a home”.

She charged the well to do in the society to always remember the needy and less privileged who could not afford a daily meal while living in opulence.

She commended the support from different women groups in the state, noting that she is nothing without them. “I runs two different Foundations/Groups – the Monisola Foundation; which financially empowers women at no cost and MyChoice Group; which processes soft loans to help small business owners to effectively run their businesses; these platforms are mainly established to cater for women”.

In attendance were Special Advisers to Mr Governor on Transport and Gender, Hon Tobi Ogunleye and Chief Mrs Olamide Falana respectively, APC leaders at the State and Local Government levels in Akure South and North, religious and traditional leaders, Women Arise, Mychoice Group among others.
