AKINYELURE DENIES VEHICLE RETRIEVAL ACCUSATION, SAYS AKINDIOSE IS SUPPOSED TO BE BEHIND BARS

By Ayobami Oyeniyi

The Current Senator representing Ondo Central Senatorial District, Senator Ayo Akinyelure has denied every allegation level against him over the retrieval of vehicles he gifted the leaders of the People’s Democratic Party after he lost the just concluded Senatorial Primary of the Party.

Akinyelure who lost to Bar Ife Adedipe (SAN), having scored 58 votes behind Adedipe, who polled 82 votes in the Shadow Election, was surprised with the outcome of the election. The Senator was alleged to have approached the leaders, some of whom are National Delegates, demanding the return of his vehicles.
However, the Special Adviser to the Senator Akinyelure on media and strategies, Mr Charles Akinwo has denied the allegation vehemently while speaking with some Community Newspaper Publishers in his Office in Akure, saying that the Senator didn’t demand return of any vehicle.
In his words he said, “it is very unfortunate that this is coming from the pit of hell, because they are all lies. The only car that was retrieved was that of the formal Chairman of Ondo East Local Government, Bar. Wole Akindiose, and there was a reason for that. Before the election, Barrister Wole Akindiose went to Senator Ayo Akinyelure that he wanted to work for his campaign, but his vehicle was bad and the Senator gave him one of his personal car, on the agreement that after using the vehicle for the campaign, he will return it. But later on, the Senator got to know that he never worked for him during the Primary Election. Infact, Bar Akindiose made it known publicly that he didn’t even vote for Senator Akinyelure by showing his ballot paper to the Party Agents including that of Chief Adedipe which shows that he voted for Bar Adedipe.

Meanwhile, prior to the day of the election, Bar Akindiose demanded for a sum of one hundred and fifty thousand naira which he claimed would be for lodging and feeding of the Delegates. Also, on the day of the election, collected some amount of money which he claimed he was going to give to some Delegates working for Senator Akinyelure, of which we later discovered that he was never working for us, and we didn’t even ask him to return the money. All we asked from him was the car which personally belogs to Sen Akinyelure.
Mr Charles also made it known that Senator Akinyelure doesn’t give out his personal cars. All the vehicles given to the leaders were registered in their names, but this particular one carries the Senator’s name which means it belongs to him.

“When we asked for the vehicle back, he refused to return it saying it has been given to him, and that prompted us to call the Area Commander in Ondo to help retrieve the car, and when he eventually brought it, Bar Akindiose mistakenly forgot two affidavits inside the car, which stated that he has changed the plate number of the vehicle, the former plate number was LND771FL, and he changed it to NND508AA illegally. As a legal practitioner for that matter, he went and sworn an affidavit at Ile-Oluji stating that the vehicle has been sold to him by Senator Ayo Akinyelure on 27th of April 2022. He also sworn another at Ondo High Court on the 5th of May stating that the car has been given to him by the Senator, two different affidavits, this makes him a criminal. If not that my Principal is a kind and easy going man, Barrister Akindiose is suppose to be in jail by now with all the evidence we have . So, the fact remains that Senator Ayo Akinyelure never retrieved any vehicle from any of the leaders”.

“However, the Distinguished Senator will not be perturbed by cheap and baseless blackmailing as no one can drag the good name he has built over the years in political mud in Ondo State and Nigeria at large.” He said.
