Akeredolu Security Aide, Dojumo Bags UN Peace Ambassador

In recognition of his selfless and excellent service in combating crime in Ondo State, the United Nations has decorated Alhaji Jimoh Dojumo, the Senior Special Assistant to Ondo State Governor on Security Matters with UN Peace Ambassador Award.

The award presentation was part of the activities marking the 2021 International Day of Peace. The event was held at Lagos Airport Hotel, Lagos, Nigeria.

International Day of Peace is observed around the world on 21 September of every year. The UN General Assembly has declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, through observing 24 hours of non-violebce and cease fire.

This year theme is ” Covering better for an equitable and sustainable world”.

It could be recalled that, the governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has been at the forefront championing the call for end to terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and criminal herdsmen activities in Ondo State and South West Nigeria.

The success so far recorded in the fight against crime in Ondo State was due to the governor’s boldness and appointing capable hands to monitor and lead the security architecture of the state.

Alhaji Jimoh Dojumo, the SSA on Security to the governor in collaboration with other Security agencies were able to checkmate the activities of criminals and made the state uncomfortable for them.

Beaming its search light, the UN found Alhaji Dojumo worthy of the prestigious award.

Speaking with newsmen, the SSA thanked the organiser of the award for counting him worthy for the honour, with a promise to continue to provide his security expertise in making sure criminals have no hidden place in Ondo State.

While dedicating the award to Governor Akeredolu, he assured him of more robust relationship with security outfits in the state for a crime free society most especially with the Amotekun Security Corps.
