The General Overseer and Founder of the Scripture Group Mission (SGM), Revd (Dr.) Funmilade Akintayo Suulola has stated that it is only God that knows the next occupant of the royal stool of Alaafin of Oyo Kingdom.
It could be recalled that the throne of Alaafin has become vacant following the demise of Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, the Alaafin of Oyo Kingdom. Revd Funmilade Akintayo Suulola is an Oyo Prince and is entitling to the throne.
The GO was speaking to PATH NEWS at the Thanksgiving of the Scripture Group Mission 23rd Annual Convention and 21st Anniversary in Akure.
He said the seat of Alaafin of Oyo has always been ordained by God, saying none of the interested Prince can boldly say he is going to be next King.
“We have many contestants in the race, serious minded Princes that are ready to take the throne but it is only Almighty God that knows the next Alaafin of Oyo Kingdom”.
Revd Akintayo added that, as a Minister of God, his priority is preaching the gospel of Christ across the world, and not preoccupied with who becomes the traditional ruler of Oyo Kingdom.
“If God ask anybody who is a Minister to become Alaafin of Oyo, the office of Alaafin is conventional and of many parts; whoever is the Alaafin, his primary assignment is the welfare of Oyo Kingdom and focusing on that than any other things”.
Speaking on the Convention theme, NEW GLORY, Revd Akintayo said the theme was reaveled to him that year 2022 is the Year of New Glory.
The one week long programme shared a lot of activities among which were legal training that further exposed members of the church on their right and responsibility as a good citizen; Marriage/Home Counseling, guest pastors preaching on the convention theme among other activities.
He thanked God for manifesting Himself during the program as many breakthroughs were recorded, some of which includes high number of people in attendance compare to previous conventions, God sufficiency in the life of members despite harsh economy among others.
“God has proven on several times that He is a living God; the people are rejoicing as the Glory of God has descended on them”.
On the 2023 Poll, he said God’s revelation concerning forthcoming general election is peaceful conduct and surprises that will shock many Nigerians.
“God gave me revelation that 2023 is a year of Mercy; also in the forthcoming Presidential Election, the election will be peaceful and full of surprises after election result must have been released”.
