The new Principal of the Ijapo High School Ijapo, Akure, Mrs. Ola-Obaado Dorothy has promised to leave the Estate Public School better than she met, saying her tenure would make a remarkable difference in academic, infrastructure and building a future leaders.
Mrs Ola-Obaado who doubled as the Vice President of ANCOPSS in Ondo State disclosed this while chatting with the Newsmen during the resumption monitoring of the 2026/2027 academic session.
Ola-Obaado noted that, with the cooperation of the Staff, Old Students Association and PTA, the school will definitely grow in size and strength.
“We are going to introduce new initiatives that will help boost academic standard of the school, collaborate with the PTA and Old Students Association to bring needed infrastructure development to the school”.
She added that, the school strictly complied with the directives of the Ministry of Education on collectibles, noting that, all payment were paid into centralized account approved by the government.
” We thank God for what the government is doing for the parents. The collectables are affordable because, you know, we have a government that is up and doing and that loves the parents. So they made it affordable for them”.
” We were told in our meeting with the Ministry not to sell books, not to sell lockers and teaching materials. Even vendors that are in front of our school, we have to drive them away”.
She lauded the state government initiative on the newly introduced Gateway Centralize Payment System saying it was a good innovation for transparency and accountability.
The Principal added further that, so far 240 students have been admitted while compared to the 450 capacity approved by the ministry.
The Principal solicited for the assistance and cooperation of all stakeholders in the school, PTA and Old Students Association, saying the school growth and development depend on them.
While commending the parents financial commitment to the future of their children, the Principal urged the students to be focused and hardworking, saying there’s no short cut to success.
