The All Progressives Congress (APC) Senatorial Candidate for Ondo South, Barr. Isaac Kekemeke, has credited Dr Lucky Aiyedatiwa for promoting his Senatorial ambition, saying the governor endorsement with the support of President Tinubu finally secured his candidacy as the party flag bearer in the 2027 poll.
He stated this while playing host to the members of Association of Independent Newspapers Publishers of Nigeria, (AINPN ) Ondo State, at his Alagbaka Chamber, Akure.
Kekemeke said his emergence as the APC candidate was the product of the confidence reposed in him by Governor Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, the leadership of the party and the people of Ondo South.
His words: “Governor Aiyedatiwa played a pivotal role in my emergence as the APC candidate for Ondo South Senatorial District with his support and endorsement of my aspiration”.
“Let me put it simply. Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa is my promoter and the person who endorsed me. He initiated the process, promoted my aspiration and chose me as his preferred candidate. The people of Ondo South accepted me and came out in large numbers to vote for me. My colleagues at the National Working Committee also supported me, while President Bola Ahmed Tinubu provided the leadership that ensured a credible and successful process,” he said.
Kekemeke expressed appreciation to Governor Aiyedatiwa, President Tinubu, the National Working Committee of the APC and the people of Ondo South for the confidence reposed in him, pledging to justify the trust through selfless service and effective representation.
Speaking on the attack on the governor by some members of the party who are eyeing Alagbaka Government House ahead of the 2028 governorship election, Kekemeke said dragging Aiyedatiwa is a disservice to the ruling party and president Tinubu.
His words: “Whoever that has ambition should do that without dragging the governor. Aiyedatiwa still have three years to spend in office and he should be allowed to focus on governance, rather than being distracted”.
” They should stop abusing Governor Aiyedatiwa because APC is one united party and nobody should hide under supporting reelection of President Tinubu to create chaos in the state. It is disservice to the party and President Tinubu with the manner the governor is being dragged”.
