2023: Atiku’s Presidency will Boost Jegede Governorship Chances -Senator Omogunwa

A former senator representing Ondo South Senatorial District, Senator Yele Omogunwa has charged the People’s Democratic party members and Stakeholders to work for the emergence of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as the next president of Nigeria, saying Atiku’s victory at the poll will boost the governorship aspiration of Eyitayo Jegede SAN.

Speaking at the official unveiling of Ondo For Atiku, a programme put together by Coalition of Eyi Support Groups in collaboration with Eyitayo Volunteers Group (EVG), held at Amazing Grace Event Center, Akure.

In his goodwill message, Omogunwa noted that the time is ripe for the People’s Democratic party to take governance of the country from the ruling All Progressive Congress, saying Nigerians are tire of maladministration of Buhari led government.

The former Senator said the victory of Atiku in the next year presidential election will help the two terms Governorship candidate of the PDP in Ondo State, Barrister Eyitayo Jegede SAN to be better placed ahead of other interested aspirants within and outside the party.

” I am charging our members to go out and tell Nigerians why Atiku is the only available option to restore the lost glory of this country; if Atiku becomes president today, Jegede Governorship aspiration will no doubt receive 75 percent boost. Jegede Governorship aspiration and Atiku Presidency are like siemen twins that are inseparable”.

While describing APC as a Party of Cultists, he said he retraced his step having defected to APC at one time, noting that PDP is more democratic and people oriented than APC which has brought hardship to Nigerians.

Addressing the gathering, Barrister Eyitayo Jegede SAN charged members of the party to double up, saying they are going to replicate the victory of 2019 presidential election for Atiku in the next year election.

” In 2019 presidential election, Ondo State PDP came first in the South West; we delivered Ondo State for PDP and its presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. We are going to do same in the next year general election because our people can’t endure another four years of insecurity, poverty and maladministration.”

Dr Olatunji Felder who was presented said 2023 election is about Nigerians future and future of their children.” APC has fooled the people and cajoled them to vote for the party, Nigerians are ready to use their PVCs in 2023 to send them packing. PDP is on rescue mission and Nigerians will smile again with Atiku’s Presidency.

Earlier, the State Chairman of the party, Alhaji Fatai Adams urged every member of the party and stakeholders to shealth their swords and work for all the party’s candidates in the state and its presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

” We need a united house to win the forthcoming election both at the state and national levels; it is when we win election and return to power that we can talk of sharing positions. Let’s work together for the victory of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and our party’s candidates at all levels”.

He said 2023 general election is Nigerians year to make that decision of either to continue in penury or affluence. “APC has destroyed this country beyond repair but with Atiku’s Presidency, Nigerians will shine again”.

The Chairman of the occasion, Akogun Tokunbo Modupe who double as Ondo North Senatorial Candidate of the People’s Democratic party commended the brain behind the project Ondo for Atiku, saying Nigerians need a new government and break away from the shackles of APC mis-govenance.

“Enough is enough; the man that has what it takes to get the country working again is Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. Let’s rally round him and shun personal animosity against the overall interest of the party”.

He charged every member of PDP to go back to their units and wards to preach Atiku and PDP to the people, noting that it is time for rescue mission.

Bakare Afolabi, EVG State Coordinator urged members of the group to go back to their unit and wards to canvass for all the candidates of the party, saying they should be ready to protect and defend all the candidates of the party.

He said the group is determined to do everything within the law to work assiduously for the victory of Atiku and all the party’s candidates.
