2021/2022 Academic Session: Fiwasaye Girl’s Grammar School Inducts New JSS 1 Students

In line with the tradition of the school, a leading secondary school in Ondo State, Fiwasaye Girl’s Grammar School, Akure has inducted the newly admitted JSS 1 students amidst pomp and glamour; with this ceremony, they have now become full fledge students of the school.

Fiwasaye Girl’s Grammar School was established on the 27th, January 1960.

With the 2021/2022 academic session resumption across the 18 Local government Areas of the state, there is need to induct and organize orientation programme for the newly admitted who are coming into a new environment.

Speaking at the induction ceremony, the principal of the school, Mrs Temitope Ojoge congratulates the students for the opportunity God has given them to be among the lucky students to be admitted into the school.

The Principal told the inductees that, the school had over the years produced highly well placed people in the society since its establishment in 1960, adding that, Fiwasaye students are noted for excellence.

In her words, ” Many people have passed through the school and they are occupying sensitive positions in their field of endeavour. The first Professor of Computer Science in Nigeria, Prof Nike Osofisan was a former student of Fiwasaye, Mrs Kolawole Kosemani, the First Female Head of Service in Ondo State was our ex-students; we have retired and serving permanent secretaries and a lot of people in high places in Nigeria. This is to tell you that Fiwasaye is one the foremost citadel of learnings in Nigeria’.

Mrs Ojoge who was an old student of the school said her elevation and appointment as the head teachers was supported and pushed by the old students who saw her as a better replacement for the late Principal of the school.

She charged the students to be diligent, dedicated and have a strong determination to succeed during the period they will spend in the school.

” We don’t tolerate laziness, lateness, indecent behaviour and act of indiscipline among our students. The standard is there and we won’t compromise already set standard by the school”.

Mrs Ojoge asked the students to be wary of bad gangs, saying the school won’t hesitate to flush out bad eggs whose mission is to corrupt other students.

While congratulating the parents, she pleaded with the parents to allow her to reproduce herself in the students, saying every student that passes through her will definitely excel because she is not a failure.

Addressing the students, Mrs Oshin who double as the school’s Counsellor told the new intakes that, there admission into Fiwasaye wasn’t accidental but ordained by God and they should count themselves lucky for a life time opportunity of being a student of the foremost school in Ondo State.

Mrs Oshin further tasked the parents to help the students to meet already set standards of the school, adding that diligence, dedication and hard work are the only mean of achieving greatness and outstanding performance in their learning.

On her part, Mrs Owa presented the students to the school management and thereafter, the new students took oath of allegiance to abide by the rules and regulations of the school within the four wall and outside the school premises.

She advised the parents to play their roles and teach their wards the ways of God, saying failure to do this will affect their way of life not only in the school but at the society at large.

While praying for the students, Pastor Adeyera gave them Bible verses that will help them to have a successful journey in the school.

Other activities of the day were drama presentation, cultural display among others.

Meanwhile, the school also organized valedictory service for the 2020/2021 set. In his words of advice, the principal charged the graduating students to always be a good ambassador of Fiwasaye at any place they might find themselves in the future.
