A House of Representative hopeful, Hon Babatunde Faro has given reasons why the people of the Akure South and Akure North Federal Constituency will vote for the People’s Democratic Party again in the forthcoming bye election.

It could be recalled that, the death of Hon Adedayo Omolafe, Member representing Akure South and Akure North at the green chamber necessitated the call for bye election in the federal constituency.

Faro is an aspirant in the Akure South and North Federal Constituency bye-election coming up at a later date to be announced by INEC stated that the failure of the ruling APC at both the federal and state levels is an advantage to PDP, saying Nigerians are tired of the mis-governance and mis-rule of APC.

The MHR hopeful further said, the giant strides of the late lawmaker in his federal constituency is another reason why people will cast their votes for whoever emerges as the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party.

In his words, ” I am very convince that with the massive support from members of the People’s Democratic Party and clear failure of APC leadership at all levels, the people will come out enmass to give their support to whoever emerges as the PDP candidates”.

Faro noted that if the party can conduct a free, fair and credible primary that will produce the best candidate and with overwhelming support of the members and voters, the party will clearly defeat APC hands down.

The 35-year-old entrepreneur during a media parley held at his private residence in Akure, also admonished the leadership of the PDP to create a fair and balanced process to select the flag bearer of the party.

Faro said all the aspirants that have so far shown interest in the race are eminently qualified, asking the leadership of the party not to skew the process to favour any aspirant. ” We are blessed with competent aspirants who have what it takes to be a better replacement for late Omolafe but the process must not be engineered to favour any particular aspirants”.

While promising to run a campaign based on issues, he said capitalizing on personal relationship with any leaders or being an aspirant in the last primary won’t be a passport for obtaining the party’s ticket.

” I am urging the leadership of our party in Ondo State to ensure fairness and equity in the process that will lead to the emergence of a candidate for the By-election”.

He said consensus arrangement is not a bad idea but saying when consensus become imposition of candidate on other aspirants, it will bring disunity among members.

“If the party comes up with a clear roadmap to drive this process and it is being seen to be free and fair,I can assure you that I will be the one to emerge. If we can not achieve a peaceful consensus let us all go to the primary and let the delegates and voices of the party decide”he said.

He promised to use his salaries and allowances if elected to the Green Chamber to empower both the politicians and non-politicians in his constituency.

” I have been blessed by God in all my areas of endeavour and the best way to appreciate God is to give back to the less privileged. What does a man need money for -Shelter? I have it In Akure, Lagos and Abuja; Is it cars? I have it in different brands. So, why would I grab people’s resources if I have been so blessed by God?”

He assured the people that his foray into active politics is a call to service, with a promise to be accountable to the people, have a functional constituency office, monthly town hall meeting, give room for briefing and feedback and make himself accessible.

Faro reiterated his determination to complete every uncompleted projects and programmes of late Adedayo and always coming to the aids of the family he left behind. ” Late Expensive famous loan scheme, Omoniyi Hospital among other programmes will be completed”.
