Today’s News Publisher’s Daughter Receives FOGA Scholarship

..... As '99 Set Donates Laptops, Textbooks to Alma Mater

The ’99 Set of Fiwasaye Old Girls Association (FOGA) in their philanthropic style has again remembered its alma mater by giving scholarship to one of the school’s outstanding students, Miss Boluwatife Ojopagogo and also donated Laptops and Textbooks to the school.

The cheque presentation for the scholarship was done at the school auditorium, alongside with the presentation of two Laptops and textbooks by the president of the ’99 Set of FOGA, Mrs Adewumi Olajumoke.

Speaking, the President said the donation of the gift items and scholarship to the school and student became necessary because God in His greatness and faithfulness has been so kind and merciful to ’99 Set as every of their members are doing well in their various field of endeavors.

According to her, the only way to appreciate God kindness in their lives is to give back to their Alma mater which necessitated the scholarship, Laptops and textbooks, with aim of encouraging the students to be hardworking.

Mrs Adewumi admonished the students to be dedicated to their studies and always hold on to prayer, saying with hardwork and determination, above the sky is their limit.

In the same vein, Hon Olamide falana, Special Adviser to Ondo State Governor on Gender charged the students to be studious and see themselve as pride of Fiwasaye, charging Boluwatife Ojopagogo to see the scholarship as impetus to do more and perform better in her academic pursuit. ” Our Set will continue to reward excellence and hard work among the girls of Fiwasaye”.

The Vice President of FOGA ’99 Set, Mrs Dolapo Gbegudu said the scholarship, Laptops and Textbooks is a way of giving back to the school, adding that, the scholarship covers the tuition fees, textbooks and other expenses.

“We requested for one of the brilliant and intelligent students from SSS1-3 from the Principal, and Boluwatife Ojopagogo was presented to us. Within the available resources at our disposal, we were able to donate two Laptops, textbooks and scholarship to the school and student.”

Responding, the Principal, Mrs Ojoge Temitope commended the ’99 Set for extending hands of love to the school, saying it will serve as an encouragement for her to continue to work harder for the good of the school.

” I discussed some of the things we lack in the school with FOGA and today the ’99 Set are here to present textbooks and Laptops to us; as if that wasn’t enough, scholarship was given to one of my students. Though, they are young but their impact in the life of the school is commendable”.

The Principal charged other Sets to take a clue and emulate the kind gesture of ’99 Set to the development of Fiwasaye Girls’ Grammar School, urging her girls to continue to maintain the school standard and be a good ambassador of the school at all time.

Mrs Ekpo, one of the teachers of the ’99 set commended the brilliant gesture of the old girls, saying she is proud of them, asking them not to relent in contributing their best quota to the development of the school.

In his words of appreciation, the father of the scholarship beneficiary, Prince Adefemi Ojopagogo thanked the ’99 Set and school management for the scholarship, noting that, her daughter won’t disappoint the confidence repose in her.

Prince Ojopagogo, a seasoned journalist and publisher of Today’s News Magazine said his joy know no bound with the scholarship given to his daughter which he least expected.

She tasked her daughter to rededicate her life and time to more studies and continue to serve the living God, and never derail from the rules and regulations of the school.

Ojopagogo Boluwatife, the beneficiary of the N100, 000 scholarship thanked the old students for the award, promising to continue to be a good girl and make Fiwasaye proud.
