New Yam Festival: PDP Deputy Governorship Candidate, Akingbaso Felicitates With Alara of Ilara-Mokin, Indigenes
In the spirit of festivities, the Federal Lawmaker representing Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency Hon Festus Akingbaso has joined other well-wishers to congratulate the Alara of Ilara-Mokin, Oba Abiodun Aderemi Adefehinti and indigenes of the town as they celebrate 2024 New Yam Festival.
In a Congratulatory Message made available to the PATH by the Special Adviser on Media to Fessywest, Hon Fagbolagun oluropo Williams ‘williwinco’ rejoiced with the people of Ilara-Mokin for the opportunity of witnessing the 2024 edition of the annual festival.
Hon Festus Akingbaso is the People’s Democratic Party Deputy Governorship Candidate in the November 16 Governorship Election in Ondo State.
New Yam Festival is one of the festivals the people of Ilara-Mokin both home and diaspora celebrate, bringing the sons and daughters of the town together at this annual event.
The festival gives room for the display of the rich culture of Ilara-Mokin as different activities will be held at different locations of the town which will further bring more glamour to the festival.
Fessywest as popularly called urged the people of the community to celebrate the festival peacefully, saying the beauty of any festival is to display culture and traditions and not to create crisis.
He thanked the people of Ilara for their support and love as their representative at the lower chamber, promising to bring more dividend of good governance to their door steps.
The Federal Lawmaker also extended his appreciation to the Alara of Ilara-Mokin and Council of Chiefs for their prayers and cooperation, saying he holds the people of the town in high esteem.
His words: ‘ I will continue to support and promote the rich cultural heritage of our people. We can’t allow our culture and identity to go into extinction. Ilara-Mokin is one towns that value culture in Ondo State and as a proud representative of the town, you can always count on me for support”.
