ONDO NCWS LAUNCHES 500 SEATERS ULTRA-MODERN WOMEN CONFERENCE HALL

The National Council of Women Societies (NCWS) Ondo State Chapter, has launched 500 Seaters Ultra Modern Women Conference Hall in Akure.

The organization under the leadership of Pastor Mrs Jumoke Aborode said the need to have a conducive hall that befit the status of the organization necessitated the building of ultra modern event hall in the state.

The N500m launching of the hall was done in attempt to raise money for the roofing of the building and total completion of the hall within the shortest period of time.

The Royal father, His Imperial Majesty, Ooni of Ife, Oba Ogunwusi Enitan Adeyeye was represented by Iyalode of Ife and the Chief Launcher was Oba Adefarakanmi Agbede, Olowa of Igbara Oke.

In her welcome address, Pastor Aborode commended the governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for appointing women of substance into sensitive positions in the state, saying women have what it takes to lead from the front without robbing shoulders with men.

” We cannot do it alone, we need our men and people in authority to support us. We cannot but thank some notable philanthropists outside Ondo State who have contributed financially to the projects; we plead with the well to do in Ondo State to contribute to the project.

She commended the ‘HeForShe’ who have been supportive and for a pledge to build toilet facilities for the comfort of members.

The State President promised to make judicious use of any money raised from the fund raising for the project.

The National President of the Organization, Dr Mrs Labaran Shoda commended the leadership of Pastor Aborode, saying she has re-branded NCWS in Ondo State.

Dr Shoda thanked Governor Akeredolu for the appointment of the first female Secretary to the State Government in Ondo State and other women into sensitive positions in his administration.

She asked the state wing of the organization to incorporate young, middle age and old women into NCWS, saying they must be encouraged to become active members.

She tasked every mother of the nation to continue to pray for Nigeria, noting that insecurity in the country call for sober reflection.

The National President further said women, aged, handicapped and pregnant women should be given special treatment during election, appealing to electorates to shun violence while exercising their franchise.

Prophet ZB Adeboriota, the Chairman of the launching said very soon women will take over the leadership position in the country, adding that women have capacity to perform better than their male counterpart if given opportunity to serve the country.

He said Nigerians should stop cursing the nation, saying Nigeria is the best country in the world richly endowed with natural resources.

While admonishing people to donate generously to the building projects, he said it is better to make good name than bad name.” You are making name with your contribution to the building projects; you will die but your name will never die”.

In his goodwill message, Ondo State Governor ably represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Princess Oladunni Odu saluted the courage of NCWS in the state for always standing with women at all time.

Princess Odu said the time has come for women to take their rightful position in the country politically, economically and digitally, saying they must key into millennium project of technology like their male counterpart.

According to her, “Women are better manager of resources, goal getter and result oriented in any assignment given to them.

She charged women to be united, supportive and rally round any woman aspiring for leadership position, saying attitude of pulling each other down will not take women anywhere.

Mrs Aborode thanked the daughter of the former governor of the state, Late Chief Adekunle Ajasin for gracing the occasion, saying Posthumous Award will be given to the Late Governor in recognition of his support to NCWS in Ondo State. ” The former governor gave NCWS the land where our Secretariat was built”.

She also appreciated all female heads in the state most especially the female leadship of NLC for their good representative of women folk in the state.

Meanwhile, in recognition of the outstanding performance and contributions of some notable people in the society, NCWS gave award to some selected people. Among the awardee were Prophet ZB Adeboriota, Mrs Ojogo, wife of the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Orientation, BEMORE girl and others.

Among the dignitaries present were National President of NCWS Dr Mrs Labaran Shoda and National PRO; Member House of Assembly representing Ilaje 2 Hon Favour Semilore Tomomewo, Mrs Esther Oni, Ondo State Accountant General, Comrade Dori Amoko, State Chairman NAWOJ, LG Presidents, Comrade Jeff Abidoye among others.
