Rep Akingbaso, Other House Committee Members On NSIA Inspect 2nd Niger Bridge

As part of the oversight functions of the House Committee on Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority, NSIA, Hon. Festus O. Akingbaso, MHR, representing Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency alongside other Members of the House Ad-Hoc Committee were on inspection tour on the NSIA’s projects across the country.

The NSIA derives its mandate from the NSIA Act which was signed into law in 2011, the act empowers the Authority to receive, manage and invest funds in a diversified portfolio of medium and long-term assets on behalf of the Federal Government, State Government, and Local Government Areas in preparation for the eventual depletion of Nigeria’s hydrocarbons resources.

On Tuesday, September 5, 2023, the Ad-Hoc Committee inspected the 2nd Niger bridge at Asaba via Onitsha currently being handled by Julius Berger.

The management of the conglomerate, Julius Berger was on the ground to take the committee around and update the committee on the true picture of the project, a project awarded by the previous administration. The project among others are being assessed by the House Ad-Hoc Committee.
