Rep Akingbaso Commissions Idanre Fire Service Station, Donates Fire Engine, Promises More Legacy projects

The Vice Chairman House Committee on Aviation, Hon Festus Akingbaso has commissioned Idanre Fire Service Station, a legacy project in the history of the ancient town which was held on 16th of March, 2026.

The epoch making handover and commissioning was attended by traditional leaders, Chiefs, political leaders, Ondo Command of the Fire Service, Security Agencies among other guests were all in attendance.

Aside the commissioning of the Idanre Fire Station, Fire Engine FFS-32 was also handover for the use of the Service Station.

Speaking, the Federal Lawmaker representing Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives stated that, 2023 fire incident in Idanre birthed the agitation for Fire Service Station in the town.

His words: ‘The Fire incident of the 2023 in Idanre, where property were loss to inferno, serve as an eye opener to my people who believe, Idanre needs Fire Service Station to forestall future occurrence. I was briefed about the incident and I took it upon myself to lobbied the Station to our town “.

Fessywest as popularly called added that, inspite of his relentless efforts of bringing the Station to Idanre, it approval was delayed for a long time, noting that, another fire incident in the town called for urgent attention which led to speedy approval by the Honourable Minister of Interior, Hon Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, and the Controller General of the Federal Fire Service.

He thanked the Honorable Minister of Interior and Controller General of the Federal Fire Service for the approval of a Fire Service Station in Idanre, saying without the duo cooperation, the implementation will be difficult to achieve.

He noted that, fire station is a game-changer for public safety, equipped to respond rapidly to emergencies, protect lives and property, and boost investor confidence.

The Rep said, he will continue to prioritize lives and property of the people of Idanre and Ifedore Federal Constituency, noting that, the Fire Service Station will provide timely solution in case of eventuality.

He noted that, the Fire Service Station is one of the legacy projects he promised the people of Idanre during his electioneering campaign, saying the Civic Center will soon be completed.

While assuring the people of the federal Constituency of more developmental projects, he stated that, the Fire Service Station in Idanre would be replicated in Ifedore, saying he has gotten approval for it.

In his address, the State Controller of Federal Fire Service Zone K, Ondo State Command, ACF Moses Oyedepo said safety of lives and properties are the core mandate of the Federal Fire Service, noting that the commissioning Idanre Fire Service Station is an extension of the vision of Controller General with the partnership of the great people of Idanre through the doggedness and passionate leadership of Honorable Akingbaso Olanrewaju Festus.

He added that, the project should be a pride to the people of Idanre, saying they must pamper and nurture it as their baby knowing the enormosity of the properties that has been lost in time past to recurring fire disaster from different sources leaving little or nothing behind after raging.

He commended the giant strides of the federal Lawmaker for conceiving the idea of facilitating Federal Fire Service Station to Idanre.

” Honorable Akingbaso Olanrewaju Festus has proven yet again that the people of Idanre are ever agile and community driven in ensuring their people live in peace and harmony while earning their livelihood, creating a safe hub for all and sundry to thrive while attracting investors from within and outside Ondo state and Nigeria at large”.

The Controller thanked the Public relations Officer at the State level of the Federal Fire Service, Ondo Command who worked tirelessly to see to the birth of this Idanre Fire Station, DSF Oshin Victor Abayomi.

He charged Akingbaso, the steering committee and people of Idanre on continued partnership with the Federal Fire Service for the sustainability of this station and personnel.

” Our men are trained and ever ready for excellent service delivery, hence we must educate and sensitize the people of Idanre at community level on the minimum expected behavior and cooperation needed to make safety of lives and properties our top priority”.

In a separate goodwill message, the community leaders hailed the project as a transformative milestone, describing the projects as unprecedented in the history of the town.

In attendance include Regent of Idanre, High Chief Akindolire, Chief Kola Ademujimi, Barr. Smart Omotadowa, HRM Oba Gilbert Olakunle Ogunlowo, Aduranjan I, Awosunye of Atosin Land, Ondo State Federal Fire Commandant, ACF Oyedepo Moses, Deputy Chairman of Idanre Local Government, Hon. Akinnibosun Niyi, Iyalobun, Iyalojas among others personalities.
