The remains of the NULGE Chairman of Akure South Local Government, Late Comrade Olasoji Oluwatuyi Gabriel was laid to rest today, 24th of September, 2024 at his private residence in Jegele, Akure.
Late Olasoji popularly known as SOJ died at FMC Owo on the 9th of September.
At the lying-in-state at the Akure South Local Government Secretariat Complex, it was a mixture of tears and encomium as families, Council Management Team, NULGE, friends, colleagues among others can’t hold their tears.
Speaking, the burial officiating Minister said every man born of a woman has a short life span, saying Late Olasoji Oluwatuyi has reached his own bus stop.
He enjoined every mourner to think of death in whatever position they find themselves, adding that death is a debt every mortal must pay while praying for God protection over the family of the deceased left behind.
His words, ” Death is inevitable, Brother Olasoji Oluwatuyi Gabriel has spent the number of years written for him by God. We are all mortals with a short life span. How many years we want to spend, nobody knows but one thing is certain, one day, we all leave this world”.
Leading the Local Government Management Team to the internment was the Chairman, Hon Gbenga Fasua who described Late Olasoji as a man of the people who has contributed his quota to the development of the council as a unionist.
The Chairman urged his immediate family to take solace in a life well spent, though short, saying his positive impact will never be forgotten.
On her part, the Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA), Mrs Omoloja Dupe said the death of Late SOJ came to her as a rude shock, saying the workers and NULGE Akure South will definitely miss him.
Omoloja described SOJ as a man with good heart, accommodating and always ready to give her necessary support anytime he needs his attention while alive.
She prayed that God should give the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss while also commiserated with the NULGE family in Akure South.
In attendance were Hon Gbenga Fasua, Chairman Akure South Local Government, Hon Abitogun, Member Ondo State House of Assembly, Mrs Omoloja Dupe, HOLGA, Comrade Frederick Akinrilola, State President NULGE, NULGE Chairmen among others.
