In recognition of his outstanding contributions to the development of Islam and Ansar-ud-Deen in Akure, Al-Sord-Quun Islamic Society of Nigeria has bestowed Merit Award on Prince Giwa Kehinde Hussain.
The ceremony was held at the open field of St Anthony Primary School, Araromi Akure where families, friends and well wishers of the organisation gathered to celebrate the lucky awardees.
Speaking at the events, the founder of the Islamic organization who also doubled as the Chief Imam of Ansar-ud-Deen, Araromi, Alhaji Mikhail Modupeola said the society was established for the purpose of promoting islam, educational development of Muslims and also as a body to enhance the moral and social development of the Muslims in Akure Community.
While congratulating the awardees, the Chief Imam said the organisation honoured deserving people based on their contributions to the development of Islam in Akure, particularly on their financial commitment to Ansar-ud-Deen in Akure.
The Chairman of the organisation, Alhaji Isa Abiodun Olayiwola stated that the awardees were selected based on their outstanding contributions to Islam, urging every Muslim faithful to use their God’s given wealth to promote Islam.
He called on Muslims to emulate good examples of the awardees by making meaningful impacts in the lives of others.
In his words of wisdom to the congregation, the Chief Imam of Akure Kingdom, Alhaji Abdulakeem Akorede admonished all Muslims to use their money for God, saying it is rewarding both on earth and in heaven.
Speaking with PATH, Prince Giwa Kehinde Hussain thanks the organisation for counting him worthy for the prestigious award, noting that the highest honour in life is to be recognized in the house of God.
” This award is God’s favour; out of the thousands Muslims faithful in Akure, to be selected and count worthy to be honored means a lot to me. I was not expecting this but I feel elated to be so honored considering my little contributions to the development of Islam “.
Prince Giwa further said he was motivated by the award given to him, saying it will spur him to continue to contribute more into the development of Islam.
” With this award, it shows that people value my little contributions; this would encourage other members and well to do in the society to do more for God”.
