PDP Reps-Elect, Akingbaso thanks Idanre/Ifedore for victory

The House of Representatives member elect for Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency, Hon Festus Akingbaso has thanked the people of the federal constituency for electing him as their representative in the forthcoming 10th Assembly.

FessyWest as popularly called was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) having scored the highest votes and met all the necessary requirements of the electoral provision.

Akingbaso of the People’s Democratic party scored 24, 263 votes while the All Progressive Congress candidate, Hon Tajudeen Adefisoye scored 20, 064 votes.

He commended the leaders of the party in the federal constituency for their resiliency and support which has no doubt coast the party to victory.

FessyWest specifically thanked Dr Tayo Dairo, Senator Ayo Akinyelure, Dr Kola Ademujimi, Engr Clement Faboyede, Dr Ibukun, Engr Gboye, Party’s Chairmen at Idanre and Ifedore and leaders, Hon Sunday Taye, all the party Chairmen at unit and ward levels for standing by him throughout the electioneering period.

Apart from commending the members of the FessyWest Campaign Council, he also thanked all those who contributed to his success one way or the other.

The MHR Elect commended the security agents for their patriotic roles during the election in truncating all the moves of recruited political thugs to disrupt the polls.

His words: “I give thanks to Almighty God Who has spared our lives to witness another victory for our nascent democracy and victory for our party PDP. Despite all odds and intimidation, God proved Himself to be above all mortals”.

“I thank all the people that voted for me and am deeply humbled and profoundly grateful to you for believing in me and I promise to fulfill all the electioneering campaign within the available resources at my disposal “.

My sincere appreciation goes to our leaders within and outside the federal constituency who supported my aspiration. I appreciate our mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers mostly the Youth of our federal constituency for show of love and support before, during and after the election.

“My thanks to all those who contributed to the logistic, sacrificed time and resources, the FessyWest Support Groups, you are all appreciated.

“Despite our victory, I am very sad at the grievous loss of life of my brother and ardent supporter, Mr Akinfolarin who was shot dead by overzealous soldier; may Almighty God comfort the family.

While thanking the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting one of the fairest election in the state,he made special appeal to his supporters not to gloat or abuse the losers saying in politics, you win some, you loss some.
